Well, that was a beatdown. That's the worst match I've seen Felix play in 2022.
Edit: Felix actually had two more winners (19 to 17) that Casper did. 25 unforced errors to go along with those 19 winners

the lack of shot tolerance from match to match is completely the opposite of what an Uncle Toni disciple should be exhibiting. at this point I'd take a rallybot Felix so he'd at least have a lower floor and be able to last through an opponent's streaks.

Senator Clay Davis said it a while ago and it still rings true today, in no way is Felix a servebot, but how his serve goes dictates how the rest of his game goes. Today, the serve was terrible.

Poor showing from Felix, but really, even if he was on his game, I highly doubt he was taking out Ruud today who has just been locked in for the last year to year and a half now. It's hard to believe Ruud was playing the challenger tour just 4 years ago here in Calgary.
His game is one that might put him in the spot to win a major at some point. Infact, my money is on him to take home this event for his first 1000 level title.

I think the winner of the Ruud - Hurkacz match takes the title in Montreal and my money is on Hubi. Hopefully, it's a great match.

I'm hearing that Serena vs. Raducanu is a opening round match in Cincy.
Edit: We could also see a Leylah - Naomi 2nd round match if they each take care of business in round 1. Also, Bianca vs. Giorgi is a round 1 match with the winner to take on Jessica Pegula

The Ruud forehand just might be the best forehand on the ATP tour.
Edit: Casper was up a break in set 2, but Hubi really upped his level and took set 2 6-3. Going the distance.

Ruud up 40-love in the opening game of set 3, gets broken missing some pretty easy shots.
Edit: Hubi into the final winning set 3 6-2. Hurkacz was in trouble in set 2 and Casper let hm off the hook.

Genie and Rebecca are both playing the Odlum Brown this week in Vancouver - I went to that tourney a few years ago and it's a lot of fun (tickets were pretty cheap as well) and the quality of tennis is top notch.
