I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure I recall Pagnotta not being much of an insider. He parrots other insiders usually, but stepped out with a rumour of his own last year and it was a doughnut.
Anyone else remember this?

Wouldn't salary retention always have to remain a percentage? The cap hit never changes over the contract but salary often does.
If a team retained 50% of an $8M cap hit, but salary was $1M in the last year, I don't see the retaining team paying $4M in salary when only $1M is owed.

The only player I want from Boston is Pastrnak, and I doubt we have the pieces to make that happen. Hall wouldn’t be the worst guy coming back, however. Only two more years after this at 6M and would drive Oilers fans insane.

Off the top of my head, Pagnotta recently said the Blackhawks were shopping Kane and that Dallas was one of the most interested teams. But Lazerus who covers who Blackhawks immediately debunked it.
Friedman and Seravalli also said the stuff about Kadri already having a deal with NYI was premature.

I'm sorry but drive Oilers fan insane isn't worth the cap hit and Hall isn't what he used to be anymore.

If Treliving does make Kadri happen I will gladly give him credit for his willingness and ability to make big, bold moves. Couldn't fault him for sitting on his hands instead of trying to win.

What? Flames aren’t attaching a 5 million dollar contract to Lucic to get rid of him, that makes zero sense for either party.
It’s been mentioned a lot, but Looch is set to get paid under a million bucks this year. If the Flames really had to move him they could do it. It probably wouldn’t cost more than a mid round pick too. Some insider’s have even mentioned he might return something in a trade.

The only reason to acquire Hall would be to trade him away for a bigger return than Larsson.

That was not Pagnotta.. it was a troll account. The O was replaced by a 0 and it had like 50 followers.

Lucic would be perfect for any team trying to get to the cap floor. His actual cash owed is $875k. You could buy him out for 2/3 of that ($583k) and gain $4,666,667 in cap.

Currently all teams are above the floor.

It's been "done" for how long with nothing official though.
Smells of something NYI tried but fell through on them due to not being able to make the money work.

That's correct. To a non-cap team that wants to hit the floor as cheap as possible he has value.
To a team with cap issues, he has huge negative value.
Lucic to Boston only makes sense if they send cap back. Now, if for some reason Boston covets him and sends back a decent player with a cap hit, maybe it can work for us.

The real Pagnotta said on TSN that Kadri to NYI was a formality 4 days ago

Or Kadri doesn't really want to go there, is keeping them alive just in case it's his only last resort option, and using it as leverage in negotiating with other teams to get them up on term and $.

Granted I haven’t watched Hall the last few years, but 60+ points is still pretty good. Plus he would have one of the best passers in the league beside him. It doesn’t seem like the worst risk to take for 3 years.

My gut tells me Tre will pull the trigger but wont be Kadri and it will be someone totally off the radar but will improve our top 6 that needs to be addressed
