…ever since I saw Huberdeau being buddy buddy with Drouin at that event the other week I started watching Drouin’s highlights. Could be a could add. He’s got finishing ability that’s for sure.
Drouin can also be bait for MacKinnon next summer.

I doubt the Isles want to move Barzal unless they know for certain he doesn’t want to sign back with them

Or they see his upcoming QO and are balking at it like the rest of us….

How about swapping Finns with Edmonton? Something around Puljujaarvi for Valimaki? Both are first-rounders who are somewhat reclamation projects…..

EDIT: JP is Swedish, my bad. Even better for us, though.

Born in Sweden, grew up in and played for Finland.

JP though is a proven NHLer as a middle 6 forward.
I feel like Calgary would need to add.

They need to get under the cap, they are trying to dump him or Foegle. I would take JP.

Colorado has Landeskog and Rantanen as bait.

MacKinnon is going nowhere, he has said as much.

I have an intense belief that once Puljujarvi is freed from Wahdmonton we see the top line RW he was projected to be.

I can see Florida landing JP on the cheap and he slides into the top line with Chucky and Barkov and becomes a 30 goal scorer.

I think some of you are expecting too much out of that guy. He's a poor man's Jokinen at best. If teams still thought he had 1st line potential he would have been traded a long time ago.

Not smart enough to be a top line player. Put him on Backlund's wing and see if he can play a no nonsense game.

JP doesn't have top line upside I don't think.

But he can play a lot more motivated than he has in Edmonton, which has been a prison sentence for him.

A motivated Frankenberry in a better situation could potentially be a productive second line winger at his peak.

Jesse Puljujarvi is a plug, at best a warm body. A chimpanzee could put out better offensive numbers than him playing primarily with Mavi or Raisaitl

Why are we even bothering to talk about Puljujarvi? There is no way the Oilers would trade him to the flames, just for the possibility that he turns on potential and burns them. And we would have to overpay to convince a third team to burn holland by acting as the intermediary. JP is not even close worth to an overpay, or that much effort (even this much thought is stretching his value.)

Remembering Puljujarvi at the 2016 WJC where he and Laine were dominant, it's easy to think there might still be some of that dominant potential hidden away, that lies dormant due to the Oilers' inability to develop players.
I think that's probably a trap though.

That’s fair but not all players need to be top line players as long as they are playing with elite talent. Maroon in Edmonton, Bunting in Toronto. Chucky and Barkov are elite players where Puljujarvi could find success. It was a little tongue in cheek as well considering Florida has seemingly been a place where players go and thrive like Bennett, Duclair, Marchment etc.

Would Valimaki for Bellows make sense?

Valimaki is probably the odd man out here and needs waivers so may as well try and recoup something for him.

Bellows hasn’t been able to get any kind of footing at the NHL and might be a change of scenery candidate. He is an RFA and needs waivers as well. The Islanders also don’t have great depth on defense. Bellows can play a power forward style so he might fit with Sutter better than he has with the Islanders.

I would rather try for Wahlstrom even if you have to add something.

RA from chiclets with the infamous eye emoji and Lucic in a Bruins uniform. Could that deal be going down? Doesn’t make sense for the Flames unless we are clearing cap
