Have a hard time believing some media personalities won't step up and fill the void of daily local team content, even if it's not delivered through live radio but in podcast form.

It's a hockey mad city. Just having 4 hour broadcasts around games and otherwise out of town rebroadcasting makes no sense.

Time for the fans out there to step up their own content too.

There will be demand for it.

However, the one thing I am hearing the most right now is that the Vancouver Canucks could pull their games off the radio airwaves as soon as this season. Multiple sources are telling me the decision has been, do they pull the games this season or next, however, it appears it could very well happen this season after all.
I take it this could mean only online streaming? Or will only take the production in-house and sell it to a local radio provider?

Given the precarious state at 960, is it also a possibility?

Boomer and Pinder were huge losses, Rhett was a loss, good luck Will.

Will be interesting to see if they replace him. If they don’t its a pretty skeleton crew already after everyone else left. Might be a sign of a pending closure. If they start replacing everyone that left, then its also a sign

No new arena. No more hockey talk. Sucks.

I didn’t mind Will Nault either, not sure why some dislike him so much.

What’s Kerr doing, he’d be a good guy to build a Flames centric program around.

Sometimes he was the only voice of reason. In some cases, it’s good to be negative sometimes instead of always positive about everything. I noticed that the majority of the guys wouldn’t say anything negative about the team. Where as, Will, actually saw the writing on the wall when the flames were starting to slump, before the playoffs started.

The problem was, most of the time Nault wasn't a voice of reason, just a voice of negativity. He was down on the team when they deserved it, but he was just as likely to be down on them when they didn't. I think he was assigned the role of heel.

It didn't help that he has that naturally glum-sounding voice, which makes his takes sound even more negative and makes you wonder why he even bothers being there.

I've been known to say that a wise man would rather be right than happy, and a fool would rather be happy than right. Nault came across as someone who would rather be unhappy than right. I don't know if he's like that in person, but his on-air persona seemed that way.

Works for CSEC in Community Outreach... sounds like Hitmen-related youth hockey projects

960 is really imploding. Almost everyone has quit.

Who’s driving the bus and what did they do to poison the water?

Rogers is driving the bus, and all they had to do was be Rogers. I think everyone working there knows they're about to pull the plug.

But its always easy to be negative. Predicting that you won't win the lottery is a much more sure bet than you will. But its also boring.

Sports isn't about being boring. We don't watch because we know the flames will likely be 31/32 teams that won't win the cup (97%). We watch because they have a 1/32 chance that they will... 3%
