Nice to see someone who cares that much about what they do and the people they work with. IBF showing he is a real class act too. I kind of feel bad for laughing at his scores as his game left him and he was arguably the worst player in most tournaments he entered, scaring 90 on occasion.

Wouldn't be surprised if they were up there with their best years in the 40-45k range for attendance. The galleries around Wier and even more so for John Daly and Fred Couples resembled a PGA tour event. Probably a good 5k around Daly at times, it was crazy. It was a mad dash of thousands making decisions on whether to sit mid fairway and watch approaches or race up to greens to get a close spot.
I was there on Saturday - what a great event for the city! Spent most of the day following Daly, Couples and Harrington.

I heard that it's one of the best attended Champions Tour events.

Crazy thing is Kim won. He's not a member so he gets instant membership and knocks everyone down a spot.

Ya and punted 4 guys from the KFT finals.

Him winning really wrecked next year for a lot of people.

If you don't finish in the top 200 in FedEx points you are dead to the PGA Tour. Anyone here on CP has the exact same status.... Zero.

Still just rumours so far, it seems? But more and more smoke behind them for sure.

Cam Smith seems pretty particularly brash in chastising the journalist for daring to ask him about liv at the British open press conference, only to turn around and leverage that British Open win to turn his back on the tour that got him there. If that Open victory was so special, why risk not being able to play any more majors by taking some easy cash?

Smith is 2nd in the Fedex Cup standings. If he has a good run in the playoffs and these rumours persists, will the pga tour sit and watch him take away the 18 million first place prize on his way out the door?

What can they really do? Ban him based on rumours?

The request for the temporary restraining order has been denied.

Thank God.

Obviously the PGA can not act until a player officially joins LV

Ruling today, where the three LV players can not play in the Fed Ex cup is really good news

Do guys outside the top 125 get bumped up or is the field just simply reduced this week?

They had already taken them all out a few weeks ago. Fowler would not have made it if not for them.

I guess they could start putting clauses in the Fedex cup purse that they have to commit or stay for next season to collect the money.

This Cam Smith scenario is interesting. He's made 10 million in prize money this year, 3 million for finishing 2nd in Comcast top 10. He has a decent shot at taking an additional 20 million in the Fedex playoffs, probably 7-8 million being more likely.

So he'll make 20-40 million on the pga tour this year, plus endorsements. Rumour is he's getting 100 million for 4 years on the liv plus their guaranteed purses. He'll likely make more over the next 4 years on liv, but not way more than he made this year.

It seems like he's giving up a lot for a marginal return if he cares about competitive golf and winning majors.

I can't imagine the pga tour and its members will be ok watching Cam Smith take the Fedex cup money and immediately leave the tour if it is true that this is a done deal. He's also making a fool of himself acting all upset when people ask him about it.

yep, If I have to guess I would think Cam Smith could make it official after the FedEx cup is completed.

So there are some stories online that based on a comment made by one of their attorneys, LIV first takes the prize money out of their advance. So a guy like FIGJAM would need to win $200 million in prize money before he sees an extra cent.

Apparently LIV spokespeople deny this. I’m sure they can be trusted.

If true, the big names are playing for absolutely nothing.

LOL...at least he is open and up front about it.

Not sure how much more water this course can take.

I would think they are going to play preferred lies all week.

Cam Smith being two off the lead is very different than Cam Smith being 4 off the lead.

Looking like Conners, Hughes, Hadwin and Pendrith will all make the BMW.

Adam Svensson's and Nick Taylor's season is over.

KFT finals start next week. Doesn't look like any Canadians got their tour cards via the KFT regular season.

Tiger Woods is scheduled to meet with several of the top golfers in the world Tuesday in an effort to rally support around the PGA Tour in its ongoing battle with the rival LIV Golf series, sources confirmed to ESPN on Monday.

The meeting between Woods, a 15-time major champion, and the group of players is set to take place at the BMW Championship in Wilmington, Delaware, host of the second FedEx Cup playoff event that begins Thursday.

A player who was invited to attend the meeting told ESPN that it will include many of the top 20 players in the world and a handful of other influential PGA Tour members who haven't defected to LIV Golf. It will take place shortly after a previously scheduled PGA Tour Player Advisory Council meeting at Wilmington Country Club.
