The issue is the timing of the discussions really. Hockey talk should start the hour regardless. I find they blow their load and move on instead if pace the topics. I tend to start listening a the top of the hour because it is typically times for my commute, if it is golf…or baseball…or something that does not hold my interest I immediately change the station.

It's amazing whats happened. I do outside sales and hear the radio on and off all day.
I simply do not recognize who I'm listening to or why on that station anymore. I've rewarded them for their efforts and switch to Rock stations 90% of the time now. Their advertisers aren't reaching me anymore.

Sounds like 960 is being repositioned as a repeater station for national broadcasts, with no local content outside of updates. Flames and Hitmen games (and I guess the Wranglers) are the only local productions left.

So, that’s how the fan 960 dies? Wtf. What a sad way to go out.
I’ve spent almost 20 years listening to that station. But to be honest, the past 3 years have been more difficult to stay tuned in. When Covid hit, I basically tuned out of all networks.

Just guessing here. Doesn't seem to be much money to be made outside of game broadcasts. Even then, there's the possibility thattoo gets cut to bare-bones as well.

I’ve been in radio for around 10 years now, and I can day without a doubt.. there is little to no money on either end. It’s all about sponsorship and ad revenue. Anyone under full time radio talent basically gets paid in coupons and free movie tickets.
We’re talking less then minimum wage.
