Congrats to Lopez on his first blown save as a Twin. Hope they give you a baseball to commemorate the experience.

And then it's not so great.

Needed a lot better from our clean up and fifth batters there.

Ouch. You can't pin the whole loss on Jansen, but two misplays in a row and the twins walk it off.

What a clown show inning. Striking out on pitches they shouldn't swing at and in Bichette's case should swing at. Then there's Jansen.

Pretty sure the Bad News Bears would have done better in the 10th. The execution was not what you would be expecting from a playoff team.

That’s an “unearned” pitchers loss if I’ve ever seen one.
Start the inning, get a strikeout, then a routine grounder, game over, loss.

Come on man. Seriously? The team comes back from a 5-0 deficit. Ties it up in the 9th with two outs. And loses in extras when teams are gifted a double with no outs. Losses happen. Best not to over react. Especially when your team has the third most wins in the AL.

I’m not over-reacting. It just wasn’t the kind of execution from either the batters (Merrifield, Hernandez, and Bo) or defense that you want to see in that inning. They generally played a pretty good game and recovered from being in a deep hole but they didn’t execute well at all in the 10th.

So in a 162 game season, playing at least 1458 innings of baseball, you expect them to perform at robotic levels with perfect execution?
Padres are down 8-0 against the Dodgers with 1 error. Not what you would expect from a team hoping for the playoffs right?

The team is in the middle of a playoff race. They need to execute better against teams that they are competing with. There were some pretty basic plays that they missed and it isn’t the first time this season that they’ve struggled with fundamentals - especially at the plate.
