If Weegar is extended too, then that was a crazy return for Tkatchuk. A signed Tkatchuk for a signed Huberdeau, a signed Weegar, a 1st, and a prospect? That's some highway robbery.
And yes, I get Chucky is only 24, but I'm really not sure how well his game will age. Guy could be like Phaneuf and peak in his early 20's and slowly regress after that.

I don’t want to ruin the street cred from sharing my Hubs news last night, but my same source said the Flames are working on a 6 x 6 Weegar deal. It didn’t come from my source as confidently as the Hubs news. The Hubs news was “I was just told the Flames signed Huberdeau for 8 years.” Today I asked about Weegar and said “when is that getting done.” And he said “I heard they’re working on a 6 x 6 deal but not sure how true that is”.
Take it for what it’s worth.

That would be a steal of a deal I think. I am expecting a $7.5 million AAV just based on how people are talking.

I hope it’s less than $7.5 mil but it probably comes in around that AAV imo and probably 7 or 8 years
I’m hoping 8 years gets him down to $7 mil

I hate to break this bit of really bad insider news to you, but a guy I saw at Orange Julius got an actual picture of Weegar's agent during contract negotiations. It doesn't look good for us:
