Brad's stock is really high around the league and only going up with recent events

If the Flames ever fire him he will have teams lining up, Christ he might quit and move to a easier market...there are like 20+ of them

Good lord.

Clearly, in the eyes of any posters who still think Brad Treliving requires some sort of "redemption," it is never going to happen. Nothing the man could do will satisfy some of you.

He saved himself with the Tkachuk trade

At the end of the day, if the team struggled and missed the playoffs , he’ll be right back on the hot seat. It’s been 8+ years

Yep, I was mistaken on this one. Happy for it. He’s a top 5 GM imho.

A great strength that I predict Tre will show this December, although maybe not in public, is looking at the Christmas cards he has for all 31 GMs and being damn sure he picks out the best one for Bill Zito

I am still greatly pleased with the added bonus that Huberdeau has this year at 5.9, while Looch and Monahan are still on the last year of their deals.

Holy hell in a hand basket did Tre ever have a summer.

I was really on the fence about giving up season tix that we have had since inception and now couldn’t be more excited.

I don't think Lanny has ever been in a real life negotiation based on their post on BT. Its very odd, like they don't realize its a two party deal, and the players have their own leverage and wants that BT must acknowledge.

Reading through their posts about how we got here, how the deals were structured, they don't seem to think or mention tradeoffs to lets say have Johnny expire next year, or the other criticisms they mention in previous posts.

I continue to think that Brad Treliving was at no time this summer in "the hot seat."

I've criticized BT as much as anyone but he seems to be learning from mistakes and is finding ways to more make quality moves each year. I don't fault him for Johnny or Tkachuk at all. The moves I hated are mostly in the past and the mistakes he does make are dice rolls every gm has to take from time to time unless we would rather him sit on his hands like Winnipeg's GM. When you make a trade or sign a player, there is always the chance it doesn't work out. Just how it goes. Besides, at this point, who would replace him? The heavy hitters have jobs and probably wouldn't come here anyway. So he'd be replaced by a newb that would have to learn from a bunch of mistakes like BT did, and we'd likely spend 5 years of learning on the job before he ever get to BT's level (if he even does). Just keep him. Stability in the position is ideal as long as he's improving and making sound moves. He's getting better every year and that's the best we're going to get so I say give him 5 more years. Lol, can't believe I said that after how hard I've been on him

He's made 4 or 5 great trades in 8 years
Drafting is good
Avoiding bad Ufa moves
Only bad trade was hamonic but that was like 6 years ago

Only thing I want to see is more of a priority put on keeping and acquiring mid picks and keep our 1sts unless getting a difference maker. Stop trading for depth players that could be found in the system or Ufa in September
