It is an overpay by prob a million , but who cares

You win with stars - not by saving a million to spend on 4th liners and 6th D

I wonder, is this the most ever money committed to a player before he plays 1 game for the team?

Tkachuk is close

Hahaha I was just getting ready to type out the same post. Some folks are never happy. I for one am going to enjoy watching Huberdeau play for the Flames. Did that ever seem like a possibility even two months ago?

I'm not too worried about the contract. The Flames can start a rebuild when this contract looks ugly in 5 years. Just feels nice after the rejection of 2 star players that player of his caliber was willing to sign for 8 years.

As a greaser, you should be worried

Tree must have his plan all ready to go if he sold it to Hubey and got him inked less than 48 hours later .

I'm kind of excited to see what else Gandalf the White has going on now.

It is a lot of years (8) past the upcoming one but the Flames have a star player that will be good for at least 5 of those 8 years. Would rather sign players like Huberdeau to these types of deals as he’s a proven star player.

That’s just what he was going to get from another team anyway, leaves the Flames in a good position as far as being competitive. I think we’re a better team already with Huberdeau.

Good signing and work by Treliving, can’t wait for the season now and to see how everything will play out now that Gaudreau and Tkachuk are gone and how the Flames will be this year.

I think the Flames will be better than Columbus and Florida.

Whatever less money for Brouwers and Neals. Rather overpay Huberdeau by a million or two than another plug.

Just need Weegar on a 7 year deal now.

I'm surprised Huberdeau signed before Weegar, but was probably Brad's doing as a show of strength for the team going forward. My guess is we see the Weegar deal by the end of the week.

Huberdeau clearly was upset that Florida wouldn’t commit to him. He wanted a team to show faith and when tree did he signed

Have to laugh that they gave him the Gaudreau deal.

Johnny now gets to watch us and know that another guy is making the money he could've been making on a more competitive team.

Probably an unintentional flex, but a flex nevertheless.

Exactly. Pay your superstars... save money on the 4th line and 3rd pair.

Merci Monsieur Huberdeau.

You may have felt like a prince in Florida, but this city will treat you like a king.

Your turn Weegsy.

Traded for and signed the only winger who was arguably better than the ones we lost, who drove the offense on the presidents trophy winning squad. And got a top pairing dman, center prospect, and a first. Treliving absolutely turned it around.
