I think the 63s are fully built and assembled by AGM too, while the 43s are not.

The wider display is a HUGE improvement, but I find it hard to fault and single out Mercedes when everyone else was doing the same thing. I still think they (MB) were one of the best at a bad point in design with the tacked on tablet, and I believe they're ahead of most of their peers in moving to a more integrated dash again. For example, your new X7 still has a "tacked on tablet look", whereas the GLS has that nice, wide, integrated screen...
I agree, the tablet designs don't really bother me anyway.
X7 is changing next year I think but I find it looks like a giant rectangle now and actually prefer the 2022 look which curves with the dash.
And with Canada's luxury car tax coming in September, certainly wasn't a change worth waiting for.

Welp we did it. Put a deposit and are playing the waiting game. CX5, in our colour and trim for MSRP. Stupid, but not MSRP+10% on a used model stupid. Feeling pretty good.

It’s going to be a massive, massive buyers market pretty quickly though, so anyone with an itch, wait 8 months. Dealers honestly not willing to budget on their used inventory now because they overpaid through the wazoo to scoop everything up.

Congrats, I am trying to hold off as long as possible, but reckon my ride is on borrowed time.

Which dealership, and did they give you any kind of delivery timeline? I put a deposit on a new 3 in April at Stoney Trail Mazda and they said to expect a 30-60 day delivery, which turned out to be a bunch of crap

I wouldn't be surprised if they sold it from under you. Always have a firm order with production dates or a specific one on a boat coming that you can track or get updates about, otherwise they can and will play games.

A lot of dealerships will prioritize someone bringing a trade in, as they then get another used car to sell.
I don't think the order of waiting lists is honored at all.

Apparently no Mazda’s dealers run that way. I engaged at least 10 dealers and the one thing in common was they all insisted Mazda didn’t issue a VIN and create a vehicle accordingly when you order. Rather, your specs are cross searched with N/A delivery and regional distribution lists by individual dealers. I’d like to think that there is a cue controlled by Mazda NA based on ‘order’ date, not specifics of sale, but who knows.

I can see them playing games no doubt. But they’re foolish to do so. Sure, refund a deposit and cancel an agreed sale during the peak of your sales pricing? Like honestly, if I get any inkling that the dealer is selling my car out from under me, I’ll demand a refund on the deposit and make a deal elsewhere. I mean, maybe China invades Taiwan and the vehicle crunch gets worse. More than likely, competition returns to the market by q2 2023 and MSRP is again the start of negotiations.

Personally, I’ll be keeping my notifications on for new listings, just to keep things honest. But I had a good feeling about this place.

Ordered a Rav-4 Hybrid in May, 12 months delivery.

Most dealers wouldn't even take an order.

Can anyone here recommend a DIY scratch remover, or at least make it less noticeable? Someone, possibly my kid, ran something along the side of my truck; it is not too deep, and I think only in the clear coat.

Toothpaste.

But you can also try a wax if you want to spend a little tiny bit of money. Make sure you wash it well first.

Wouldn't a proper polishing compound work far better? Toothpaste doesn't seem nearly abrasive enough to do anything meaningful to clearcoat. Assuming it's only in the clearcoat.

Any further would it run the risk of rust if you only polished it out? EDIT: Meaning if the scratch goes any further i.e. into the actual paint or more

EDIT2: Huh some sites are saying that it will work just only for really shallow scratches (i.e. can't catch a fingernail on it).

My wife's car had red paint transfer from a door ding(and a little dent). I started with hot water splashed on the dent, and it popped itself out. I then attacked the red paint with toothpaste and scrubbed it off, I was amazed how quick it worked. I think the clear coat was very slightly nicked, but you can't really see any damage now, thoguh I know where to look, so I can spot it). So it worked well enough for me, it's not a show car.

I don't think I could have cut through the paint with toothpaste, it was pretty mellow.

Sounds like toothpaste may do the trick. Did you use your finger or an applicator pad?

I used a microfibre cloth like the ones below. I think I used a touch of water as the toothpaste was a bit dry.

I don't know. Seems fitting to see a Nissan in poop brown.
