It totally comes off as super creepy but it seems fishy when the only accusation is from a couple of pedos. That’s all. I’m not defending anything and if he has done it, then he should be forced to sell the team at the very least.

But that’s not the case. She actually has a lawsuit along with 6 other girls against someone who abused her. And she’s still denying any sexual relationship.

I don’t think it’s fair at all to you to chalk this up to you being an Edmonton fan. Pretty ####ty behaviour by some people here.

I posted something similar earlier. As believable as it is that Katz might have done something like what he’s accused of doing based on previous allegations, the fact that he’s being accused in a lawsuit filed BY the people who are accused of abusing the girl in question along with multiple other girls (some underage), by a lawyer who had defended Alex Jones and neo nazis, are huge red flags.

You can disagree with stang all you want, but calling him a fanboy of Katz in relation to these allegations is totally bogus and beneath anyone here. He’s a good poster (despite his terrible choice in hockey team) and your post was far more embarrassing than his.

I agree that if there’s smoke, there’s fire, but considering where that smoke is coming from is important, too. You’re basically saying you side 100% with the neo nazi lawyer and the couple that is accused of raping and sexually abusing 6 girls. If people want to presume Katz is innocent until proven guilty that is fine. The manner in which this has come to light is odd to say the least.

But I would suggest that there exists a scenario where Katz paid $75k for the purposes of (or with the expectation of) sexual favours, but that he didn’t receive any. His lawyers statement only denies any sexual relationship actually happened, but doesn’t deny $75k was paid. And while the text messages could have been fabricated, I also think they could have been created by someone else posing as Humphries at the time — I think I read that she gave up her phone to the Buttons to control her social media accounts. That there were allegedly other “older men” involved is interesting — where are they?

Fortunately for Katz, I’m sure his company would have a clear paper trail showing why and to whom the $75k was paid because a big company like his would be diligent in keeping those kinds of accounting records versus some guy transferring funds out of an account for his own personal use…

The lawsuit claims Humphries received the money when she was 17 and Katz was 53. (Katz is now 61 and Humphries is 23, so it's unclear why the court documents have a discrepancy in ages.)
