Default David Randorf's pink jersey

Anybody watching tv who wants to see something stupid, head to TSN for the Canada vs. USA women's game. You'll notice the Canadians wearing pink uniforms, which is fine, because apparently they are the ones they wore in the first World's. The stupid part is Cassie Campbell and David Randorf broacasting the game wearing the same jerseys. WTF is that TSN? I hope they have a good excuse for this.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!

Why isn't there a testicular cancer jersey?? I'm serious. My dad had it at one time and beat it. Why is breast cancer so commercialized in a way?

This may sound somewhat concesending but this is something i've wondered for a while, and it's not to say that I have a problem with the support of breast cancer.

Same with single mothers, my parents were separated and half the time was spend with my single dad, why is there no attention being made for single fathers?

Now i'm just thinking out loud...

I was at sportmart in Crowfoot on the weekend and upon seing the bright pink Flames jersey, my wife blurts out "Oh my god, what the hell is that? Could it be any uglier?" My mouth dropped, and said "ummm yeah it supports Breast Cancer..."

She turned bright red...

Foot right in the mouth.

You do know that the pink Flames jersey has nothing to do with breast cancer, right?

I agree! We need to be spending a lot more money on a disease that kills 100 males each year in Canada far more than we need to raise money for a disease that kills 100 women EACH WEEK.

As for why people say "single mothers" so much rather than "single parents" is because only 9% of "single parent" households are single fathers. But that is wrong... even if only 1% of single-parent households were headed by the father, it's wrong to exclude them.

Because breasts are much better to look at than testicles.

I don't think the NHL pink jerseys have anything to do with any charity. The Team Canada jerseys that the women wore yesterday *DO*, as they will be auctioned off on E-bay with all proceeds going to breast cancer research.

A good friend of mine is very big into the breast cancer thing; she's always doing stuff like baking pink cupcakes and selling them at work, etc.

I asked her; and what happened is the pink jerseys came out almost exactly the same day that the Flames honoured breast cancer awareness at the Saddledome. That co-incidence misled many people; I wouldn't be suprised that somebody in the media may have mis-spoken.

It's fine for the team to be wearing them, but the broadcasters? Honestly, how much is somebody outside Randorf's family going to pay for his pink jersey? Probably less than it cost to make it.

Meh, so what if they're wearing them? Like they said, it's for charity, and just because you won't pay for the jersey, doesn't mean someone else won't. Besides, it's not like you have to see them broadcasting in the jersey's...just the intermission

Post a picture of you wearing it first.

Despite the fact that they are in support of breast cancer, it doesn't make it taboo to say they are ugly. Does it?

Breast cancer is ridiculously commercialized. My wife battled lymphoma and was always devestated that the majority of public support was given towards breast cancer at the detriment of other forms of the disease. Cancer is devestating on its own right, breast cancer included, but research and charity cannot and should not be geared towards a specific group just because they are a prime marketing target. Breast cancer is a horrible problem, but remember that 1 in 9 women face it, while 1 in 3 people will face cancer at some points in their lives. Perspective is required. "Pink Ribbons" is an excellent book by a woman at Queens which targets the little talked about over-commercialization of breast cancer.

breast cancer is obviously a devastating disease, kills so many women each year...including too many young women

but I think you could make a case for the NHL using its position to cast more attention on testicular cancer (look at Phil Kessel ) or even Prostate cancer

most males are terrible at looking after their health and I'm guessing the average hockey fan might even be worse, so if you could target those guys with info it wouldn't hurt

not that there should be a worst cancer contest....
