Some guy thinks I should get banned for giving great lawn advice, meanwhile people are getting called crying wieners and fake doctors over here?

FOI and OT are different worlds, man.

What roger is doing is ridiculous, contribute nothing. Since he only post every two years, just ban him and he won't even notice.

Not sure why you’re so admittedly worked up about fans and how they decide to feel about how a certain star player left the team that they’re a fan of. It’s an emotional arrangement being a fan and some fans process tough moments better than others; if you think that’s childish and that the player did what was best for them good for you, that’s how you feel about it. It’s a lame thing to get upset over and it’s literally something your outbursts on the topic won’t quell… I can’t see a reason in all this for a poster to throw jabs at another ones career, it’s just a childish to me but hey I don’t nearly acquaint myself to the dramas of CP at least try my best not to; I’ve always enjoyed Cali’s takes in every thread I’ve read his posts, he’s a fair dude and he’s passionate about his family and his home which I respect. Literally no sense in throwing jabs around like that.

I hear you. I've been in the C-suite for much of the last decade and have my #### you money, so like you, I do what I do because it's what I want to do. Part of that is still teaching and working with students. The most rewarding thing I've ever done in my life is teaching students, challenging what they think they know, and making them think critically about issues and for themselves. The coolest thing in the world is seeing a student you influenced be welcomed into the academy and them mentioning your instruction as shaping their perspective and driving them through their program. The only thing more rewarding is donning the regalia and shaking the hands of every graduate each year. The look on those faces keeps you going. I get it. It took a lot to leave academia full time, but even doing the adjunct stuff is still rewarding in its own twisted way. Good on you for following the path you did.

Huberdeau's style is more that which you would imagine from a 100 point guy, from an eye test perspective. I'm really excited for him to join the team and I revel at the thought of this guy that put up 115 not on the top line playing this season with a chip on his shoulder.

Tkachuk’s mitts aren’t silky smooth?

Did you see some of the goals that guy scored in Calgary? His hands are amazing

Defending a former player from undue criticism is ridiculous? If you say so. Not liking Jiri is a crime? Whatever. Calling chiropractors not actual doctors isn't the truth? Ooohkay.

Easy to imagine if they were just any nameless team. But this is Columbus. How many years since its inception has Columbus outperformed Calgary?

18-19 in the year of the upsets, although Calgary finished significantly higher in the standings. Aside from that..........

To say Columbus will revamp its long-held and well-earned identity of mediocrity suddenly when Sillinger? And Roslovic are the guys centering its top lines going forward, I think I'm scratching my head at that suggestion, at least at how things looks presently.

Flames have to do some work with contracts but their cap ability next offseason is worth making note of. They're already good (especially in relation to their division) even after the swaps made, but can also bolster their team by learning from their previous cap spending missteps and adding significant forward skill next year.

If the Tkachuk deal went south as most expected I'd agree wholeheartedly, but this whale of a trade was a fate-changer.

Flames gained 5 years of competitive sustainability to their future if they do well with the parts from this deal and take advantage of the upcoming cap flexibility. They also have their 1st rounders moving forward including in an elite draft so I don't see why they can't stockpile and reinforce their team a few years down the road as well.

People so quick to deem a perpetually underperforming club future juggernauts when they're not even a perrenial cap spending team always leaves me raising an eyebrow.

Ah crap. Ok, F--- JG. He should have tipped his hand early so that the Flames had the advantage. Also, screw that guy for not having decided well in advance. It's impossible that a young man flies by the seat of his pants and doesn't have it all mapped out like the son of Keith Tkachuk. Clearly he was trying to ruin the Calgary Flames, and we should all boo him when he comes back on Feb. 12 or whatever.

Am I doing it right?

Seriously, here's my point. Not everybody knows exactly what they want well in advance. Some people go by their gut. I'm sure you think it's easy as a fan to think that he had years to consider things, but the guy got married last year, and now his wife is pregnant. Maybe he has more to think about, and reasons that weren't quite as important last summer, and even though the Flames have been great, and the money was there, it's still not quite the best thing for JG and wife and kid.

But if you read the board, he was actively stringing them along, and the offer was there, but he basically spit on it, and it's his evil wife that made him move, and Columbus is seven hours from Philly, and blah blah blah. It just sounds like parents giving 20-somethings grief for making an unexpected decision. That's just, like, your opinion, man.
