They not going to last long if any little bit of difficulty is the end of the world. Why did they think they would get the Express Passes?

Well...that happened.

While I am glad that the teams that got COVID aren't racing, it seems like it kinda defeats the purpose to bring teams that have lost back. Is that gonna be a thing? If we're like, 2 legs from the finish and everyone left gets COVID, do we just bring some other teams back? I'd have to think that they planned for this.

I found it kind of amusing that Brendan & Conner were talking to Jesse & Marika (I think?) and said something like "We have a couple strong teams we don't trust in mind we don't want to give an Express Pass to...here, have an Express Pass!" I mean, I'd interpret that as "We're a weak team you trust. Gee, thanks."

While I was unimpressed with Betty & Veronica this leg (Seriously, a bit of a setback and both crumble and throw a tantrum? Eesh) I was rather impressed with Cedric & Tychon.

Because they're attractive women who are used to guys doing whatever they want for them?

I'm not sure how else to handle the situation. Losing three teams at once is a lot. If you just pause everything until they recover, you get behind on filming. If you just cut them all and carry on, you either suddenly have a bunch of non-elimination rounds, or you run out of teams too fast. Or you bring in three completely new teams that the audience hasn't seen / haven't run the previous legs.

Changing to a bunch of non-eliminations is probably the most "fair" but it sounds like boring TV.

I'd be fine with the people giving out express passes thinking I wasn't a good team, if they were giving me the express pass. I think it's to your advantage to have other teams think you're a weak team (although I don't think that's the case here), especially if there are u-turns in this version of the race.

To me, their choice for express passes seemed weird. Both teams they gave passes to are doing fairly well. Give them to the weakest teams, rather than giving your biggest competition an advantage.

Cedric and Tychon definitely seem to be improving!

Again, once your win Leg 1 and get the express passes, give your express passes away immediately to the last two teams from the first leg. They would be fighting for survival and those passes would be gone by now and there would be no drama.

It looks like no show this week. Is that correct, or did they change the day/time and not make it obvious?

Looks like it has been preempted by "The 4th Annual Howie Mandel Stand-Up Extravaganza", so I don't know what to say about that...

Woo, my teams roll in first and second!

That taking a penalty ploy didn't make a lick of sense. If you thought it would take over 2 hours, sure, but when one team looks stuck, you go for it.

It was weird watching people get 3 targets on the first go, then take 15 more rounds to get the last 2.

Not sure about the covid teams coming back...doesn't seem fair to the teams working their asses off.

Yeah I don't get that either, but certainly appears like they are all back. If so, does that mean Jully and Kathy are the only team actually eliminated so far? Or is it 3 strikes? lol

Technically Jesse's sport is only half of the task.
I'm guessing they hold a comp to see which of the COVID teams gets to come back.

Yup, and he was good at that half. The shooting is why he needed to do multiple laps. It was funny how easily he lapped the others in the skiing portion.

Yeah, they showed a black clue in what looked like a fire pit.

Heads up. Every eliminated team gets 3 chances and they are still currently racing. There are 63 episodes this year and the race will conclude in March 2024

Um, well...interesting.

It looked like you had to hit the center of the target directly, not just 'anywhere in the black circle'. for it to actually count. That's a bit sneaky.

The lawn bowling thing seemed fun, and it was amusing to see some of those 'old folks' schooling the youngsters.

And...the covid teams are back. We've had 5 episodes, and only one actual elimination...I think? This is a strange year/race.

I guess I forgot to watch the preview for next week, because I didn't realize the other racers were coming back. I wonder why they brought the eliminated teams back if the others were only going to miss a couple episodes?

I wasn't impressed with Tychon and Cedric's strategy. I wonder if they didn't know how long the penalty was, because 2 hours seems like a long time, when there is only one team who could have finished quickly once they corrected their mistake. Although once it got down to 20 minutes, it started to seem like a better strategy.

Felt bad for the brother who said he was a math teacher and then made such a basic math error. He better hope none of his future students saw the show.

You see that a lot in these kinds of shows. "I'm a professional singer!" Fails the singing challenge. "I've taught math" Screws up one of the most basic elements of long multiplication. I mean, hell...just LOOKING at their first answer should have clued him in something was wrong. 548 x 31 is not "two thousand and something"...

I was wondering if we were going to see the "I'm an Olympic skier!" guy take several tumbles. Being 'good' at a task almost always seems to indicate that...the person doing it will f*** it up in some basic, stupid way.

Or when Spooner and Mikkelson struggled in the hockey challenge.
