I am impressed that one dude single handedly stoked the fire and is sticking to his guns. If nothing else its some good fun.

What I really looking forward to having Lucic in the line up is if Kane or Nurse pull anything dirty, Lucic can put them on LTIR.

Speaking of face punchers, the Caps need to dump salary. I would love to get Garnet Hathaway back. The dude can beat someone down with just a stare. Reminds me of how McGrattan used to so that.

Backstrom is going on LTIR so they don’t need to dump salary

You mean like he did with Kassian all those games? If the Flames want to improve the team, Lucic has to move on. They need the cap space and they need the position for someone who can play at the speed of the NHL game. Wasting $5.25M on a deterrent is a waste of money.

Ya, like I said. Probably just trolling but he’s making it fun and not backing off.

We are NOT getting Mangiapane locked up for under 6 the way some think we are.
I did some comparison with wingers only not C,RW or such strictly wingers this past year.
Neiderrieter 29: like Palat 31 is NOT a comparable.
Burakovsky 27 :2 seasons in 9 with 20 and 23 goals. $5.5 Mange is better
Boeser 25,: 29,23 and 23 goals 3yrs 6.65 Mange is better
Fiala 25 : 23, 20 and 33/85pts last year 7yrs/ 7.875 he's maybe better than Mange and what Mange may aspire too.
Batherson 24,: 17, 17 6yrs 4.975
He dragged Team Canada to Victory and scored 35 while getting zip power play time. We have all seen his tenacity and not all players have that motor.
I still say it'll be 6Mill and maybe up to 7M to sign Mangiapane for 7-8 years.
Now our 11.6 is only max 5.6 and Kjillington and 3 more 750-950 AHL/Free agents need to be signed
We DO have Monahan and some LTIR time?
So realistically Kadri is a pipe dream and I do not see how we are close to his ask. Even trading a 4M D man isn't going to clear us to 8 mil because somethings coming back.
Trade a 4M d man for a R shot RW? Maybe thats another story but we either have room for Mange OR a Kadri and I prefer Mange.
|
I don't see how you can look at McCann's 5x5 contract and think Mang can command more than 6 per year.
... Ritch, is that you?

I see Evolving Hockey has Mangiapane at $5.8M over 5 years as their prediction. I guess I could see that being accurate although I'd be surprised if he's over $6M.

The more I look at the depth chart and cap situation, the clearer it is that an LD will need to be moved - probably Kylington.
Weegar-Andersson
Hanifin-Tanev
Zadorov-Mackay/Meloche
That seems like the best alignment.
Kylington should have decent value for a team looking for a 2nd pairing puck-mover. Like the Wild. Maybe Kylington could be the main asset in a deal for M Foligno, a RW who potted 23 goals last season and brings size and a heavy game that Sutter would love. Signed for two more seasons at $3.1 mil, so should be doable if Kylington goes the other way.

I was wondering if something could be built around Hanafin. Similar cap hit. Washington‘s defence looks grim

If the flames didn't have kylington, we would all be looking around the league trying to figure out how they could land a player like kylington. Top teir speed, growing defensive acumen, untapped offensive potential, going into his second full season.

His defensive gaffs are brutal though...he was a train wreck without Tanev in the playoffs.

If the officials are going to call everything against you anyway, you might as well deserve it.

Would be a coup by Brad to have your best two guys walk and come out bigger and better than before.
