Yes, its brutal. I had a friend who had a skyline for a summer, and you really don't pass on the highway much. If you're on a left curving section it is possible because you can see a little better. He got fed up with it pretty fast though and sold it for more than he paid for it. Its amazing how much people will pay for a 16 year old car after a Fast and the Furious movie comes out.

I wouldn't change for anything. Great to drive, you rarely see another similar car and it's cheap and simple to maintain by yourself. I also have another for spare parts. Only problem is that rust has been starting to spread. But the sound of that boxer engine is music for my ears.

It seems like a disaster at 110kph waiting to happen. When I was in between cars I thought about buying an "exotic" Japanese import (like a skyline or silvia) from an auction and having it shipped over. But it just seemed like such a waste of money in every respect. You are over paying for a 15 year old car, guaranteed that you would have to fix a bunch of parts as soon as it got over here and finding skyline parts was a headache I didn't want to go through. If it wasn't my daily driver, but instead like a weekend project car then that would be a different story.

no complaints with mine, Nabber. My only knock on it is that the back window doesn't open. It would be nice to have that feature. Very comfortable, decent on gas and no problems cranking up the steeper mountain roads despite the fact it's a 4 cylinder.

ill be the first to admit its a pain in the ass to try and pass but then again i dont drive very aggressively. but when the time arises i peek around on the shoulder of the road, i just have to be very careful.

actually i hardly had to do any work on it at all. it only had 78k kms on it when i got it so it was, in a matter still of speaking, still pretty new.

Thanks, Kev. I've actually read a lot of bad stuff about it since buying it, but I can't find one thing to complain about myself. Very happy with my decision, I love it!

I have an 01 Intrepid with approx 75k KMs and I still can't parallel park it properly.

I have 3 kids now and I am looking to suck it up and get a mini-van.....

Yeah the newest coupes look really hot, but I'm hoping to grab one that's slightly used.

Hm, that's disappointing to hear about the gas milage; what do you actually get with it? Is it a G35x?

I was doing some research today and the G35 sedan was still at the top of my list; I don't know if the coupe would be the best choice of a daily drive commute car, given how much winter driving we have.

The newest BMW 3 series are also very nice, but I'd have to spend an extra $10k to get the same HP and AWD.

Mine is just the rwd model, not the awd G35X
They say 19mpg, it's closer to 10mpg in the city. On the highway, they say 25mpg, it's about 19-20ish. I should say that I live in a town that has lots of stop and go traffic, no freeways or expressways like Deerfoot or Crowchild Tr

What?? That's Lincon Navigator territory, I can't believe it's that bad, even with that much stop and go. That's disappointing, I'll have to do more research.

Hey Photon, just curious why you think the sedan would make a better winter daily driver than the coupe? Exact same car, just 2 less doors, no?

As for the poster with the '07, how many km's do you have on it? Is it possibly still breaking in? I know I've had cars that were pretty brutal the first few tanks but then got way better after things had broken in. I'm guessing you probably got your '07 in '06 though, so that probably has no relevance.

Hulk - I think Photon is looking at the G35x which gives you AWD instead of RWD, hence the better winter driving.

'97 Grand Prix GT

Almost wrote it off with all of 16 kilometers on it (Gotta love Calf Robe bridge at -30)

Anyway, it's long paid off, running fine. Awesome for my frequent trips through southern BC.
