Yup I mentioned earlier in The thread but as an example (RFA’s but still) Lindholm extended about 3 weeks after the trade here, and Hanafin over 2 months after.

This trade was likely surprising to both Weegar and Huberdeau. Extensions will not be canned and ready to go like Tkachuks was.

I think it would be tough for Brad to go rebuild at this point. Hes been here for so long trying to build something. Calgary ownership likely is never going to recommend that. If he can get Huberdeau signed that's a big add but I think they will still need to find another superstar to compete with the elite teams.

It'll just push things out a year, and I don't believe the 2026 pick will be subject to any conditions as the 2025 is the pick with those conditions.

So Flyers get 2025 = Flames get 2026
