With Mangi and Kylington signing for say 5.5 AAV and 3.5 AAV all if the sudden the cap is creeping up. Like I said earlier though I think Lucic gets dealt with Valimaki as the sweetener to open up more space to be aggressive.
Valimaki enticing a floor team to make a Lucic pickup is actually brilliant. He's just too buried in the system now. It makes a lot of sense.

I don't think it makes any sense to trade Kylington after this.
You need guys with his speed and dynamic ability.
Totally. He's not going to ask for the moon. Would be silly to trade him unless there's something we don't know about. Kind of a weird connection from Salim.

That's kind of the value Salim has added to this city since Jermaine's departure.

Depends on how you view Weager vs Gudbranson. Offensively, the back end definitely got better, but probably lost a bit in the shut down/physicality department.
Although, the defense was absolutely obliterated by Draisaitl and McDavid in the BoA, so I don't really know what to think about our defense right now to be honest. If Weager does a better job at containing 97 and 29 then yes, it probably is a win.
sure, but if Tkachuk signed here...same problmem, no Weegar
this trade has 100% helped the cap situation THIS season
Oh 100 percent agree, I think our D got more offensive and deeper somehow and though it hurts to lose both of Gaudreau and Tkachuk getting Huberdeau softens the blow considerably. Another move to open up a little more space for another top 6 add and what looked like sure fire purgatory could turn into an incredible off-season; even as it sits right now if this rounded into what the roster is with a depth add like Milano or Rodrigues I’d still be over the moon. Completely unexpected.
Floridas 2024 pick they traded to Philly is also top ten protected, so if that’s a top ten pick, Philly gets their 2025, and then we’d have to get their 2026. So there are two conditions pretty much on the pick

It is absolutely insane that Florida has traded their 1st round pick potentially 4 years out. Talk about a team that has to win.
You need a coffee. it was Tkachuk that got traded. Gaudreaus been gone for 9 days.
HAHAHA - just back from getting my coffee!
Edited. Now remove my quote!!!!!!
Mmmmm….coffee.
Man, this is the best I’ve felt about the Flames in a long time. There is work to do still, but even if we don’t get Huberdeau signed to a new deal, there are lots of options. And cap room.
