I imagine that will be announced soon, BT does not make this trade unless he knows he can sign him.

And Tkachuk was a UFA that wasn't signing with Calgary.
This is an immense win by any account. You either get to sign Huberdeau, or you trade him at the deadline.
Tkachuk is great, but his numbers were vastly overinflated this year due to Gaudreau.
This is an absolute bonkers win for Treliving considering how his back was against the wall.

Need Huberdeau extended to make this a slam dunk.
But WOW Tre netted a whale of a haul here. Bravo sir.

I guess I'm one of the few that doesn't like this. The Panthers outscored their opponents by a greater margin than when Huberdeau was on the ice. He is a good player but doesn't drive play.
If he's supposed to be our best player, we won't be doing much.

Moving Huberdeau at the deadline could also net some nice assets

Both Huberdeau and Weegar are one year from UFA. They need to extend or they are gone by deadline.

When was the last “sign and trade” in NHL?
I’m satisfied with this return…Does Weegar displace Kylington?

Flames have a lot of NHL D depth all of a sudden
Either rolling with crazy depth this year or trade Hanifin for forward help?

He had as many points as Gaudreau last year. They were just a really good team.

They wouldn't do this without having an idea of that probability.
You would think?

Weegar might be our best defenceman. I like this.
If Huby and Weegar aren't signed by the deadline, get assets.

I can confirm that Huberdeau does spend a lot of his time in the summer here. So I imagine that an extension is very likely.
