Now they take our discarded draft pick, too? Find another team to fanboy over, Columbus.

Pretty good trade for both teams.
Bjorkstrand is a pretty decent player, and Columbus gets rid of some money and gets to mid round picks.

Bjorkstrand is not a great skater, but I thought he was better than this return suggests.

Hard to move cap after UFA time. Even with decent players.

Great deal for Seattle. The teams with the most space are gonna be able to grab some decent players due to the flat cap

Good for the kraken, OB always seemed like he was being held back in CBJ, if he finds any kind of chemistry with seattles future 1-2 centre punch that’ll be good for them. Columbus just clears 5.4 with this move so they’re still slightly over though they do have some players currently listed LTIR including their captain Boone Jenner.

Well that was nice of Columbus to steal our star player and then dump a good player into our division for peanuts.

This is the kind of thing I hope Brad gets involved with. Not that I want to see him move out draft picks but he should be able to pick off a youngish player or two based on Calgary's cap room now.

I get Columbus had to clear cap, but this is horrendous.

To be honest I take Bjorkstrand over Laine- especially with contracts considered.

Great trade for Seattle. Columbus needed to shed salary and Seattle took advantage of it. Bjorkstrand had the 2nd most points on Columbus last year and would have been Seattle's leading scorer.

That deal compared to the Jarnkrok trade hurts to see. Great work by Seattle

Wow. Awful mismanagement by Columbus. And they still don't have a 1st line C.

Bjorkstrand was legitimately one of the Jackets' top players ... this is just perplexing.

Why not just waive Nyquist, who's older, worse, and more expensive, and see if someone picks him up?
