Hamilton has been a bigger and more successful talent so far in his career. Fit-wise he's been a challenge. But production from RHD, minutes logged - hard to argue.

Sorry - tried to edit it into a more readable form, but I just get a blank space.
Edit again: also, wrong thread. LoL

Every year at the trade deadline, teams will give up a first rounder for 2 months of a player if they think he'll put them over the top.
If a full year of Tarasenko puts the Islanders back in the playoff hunt, it might be worth it. If it doesn't work out and the Islanders look to be missing the playoffs, he can likely be flipped for another team's first rounder at the deadline.

Likely with the hopes of resigning him

Liane seemed genuinely excited about the possibility of playing the opposite wing to Gaudreau.

Dude is legitimate one of the best finishers in the league from a distance.
Johnny just has to find him *anywhere* in the offensive zone and he'll score.
Laine is also real bad defensively...so, it's a bit funny that the 5'6" guy is going to have to do some of the heavy lifting on that line.

CBJ lines will be interesting. IIRC Laine prefers the left side - I think they might be wiser to split them up and put Johnny with Bjorkstrand
Gaudreau-Sillinger*-Bjorkstrand
Laine-Roslovic-Voracek (sheltered)
K Johnson-Jenner*-Nyquist
Kuraly-Texier-Chinakhov
E Robinson, Bemstrom
* Probably can't rely on Sillinger to play 82 games at 1C, but I think those winger pairs make sense and you'd adjust the C's as necessary.
They've got too many forwards, but it's a pretty nice top 9. They've probably got to move Voracek or Nyquist for someone cheaper.

Ottawa
Matthew Tkachuk and Juuso Valimaki to the Ottawa Senators
Jake Sanderson
Shane Pinto
Ridly Greig
2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 second-round pick.
The Flames would also take on the contract of Nikita Zaitsev, which is why the 2024 second is included in this deal as well.
Detroit
Jakub Vrana
Simon Edvinsson
Filip Zadina
2023 second-round pick.
New Jersey
Jesper Bratt
Yegor Sharangovich
Kevin Bahl
2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 second round pick.
Dislike his NJD take for sure.

I gotta think they'll prioritize Johnson at "C". Their #1 and #2 long-term is Sillinger and Johnson.

Those Detroit and Ottawa packages are too good to be true, and their NJD package is uglier than what I'd expect. I don't like the look of those STL prospects either.
As a whole, I feel like they're oddly overvaluing from some teams and building ugly packages from others.
If Jake Sanderson were actually on the table, that's where I look. I'd focus there.

Disagree. I like The Blues deal. I like the Devil's deal if you replace the 2nd and Bahl with Holtz. I would pass on the others.
