Yep and all I need is 12-1 in the next 13 to beat GirlySports. Easy peasy!

The Jays were able to get projected fist round talent Tucker Toman at 77th overall because he basically only wanted to go the Jays. Says he loves their commitment to development. Dunedin complex is probably a huge reason why.

They also took 2B Cade Doughty with 78th overall pick
Hopefully they take a ton of high up side college arms the rest of the way and then get them to Dunedin to the high performance center and get them cranking up the velo and secondaries
Ton of nice looking arms from the last couple drafts are springing forth from Dunedin this year and are already bleeding their way up the ladder to A+ and AA

The 2nd bet is looking really good for you, with the change in manager and style you should win that easy. Jays need to be shooting for 95 wins.

Good day 1 of the draft for the Jays. I'm not overjoyed with the 1st round pick... mostly because a HS pitcher expected to go overslot is a hell of a risk profile (plus Beede still makes me edgey about Vandy commits)... but the talent is unquestionably there. Tomas at 77 is a coup and the two college bats look like reasonable picks where they were taken. Given that Tomas and Barriera look to both be overshot and the others at slot I would expect that we'll see a lot of college seniors and/or overdrafts in rounds 3-10.

I was hoping Rocker would be around for the Jays first pick. He might be a risk but he could/should be in able to pitch in the big league this year.

Hopefully the Jays take Barriera and give him the Tiedemann treatment.
Imagine having two lefty starters like that rocketing up through the system...

Jays Day 2 draft going as expected. Lot of unranked guys without leverage... 3rd round guy is interesting, he is ranked (but is a graduating senior... degree in physics). Fits the mold of the other college bats they've taken middling power contact hitters that don't strike out.

Kikuchi, Zimmer, Thornton and Collins for Soto. How can the Nats say no?

We might need to add a little…how about Tapia? I think that should close the deal.

That's awesome. Saw that Ken Rosenthal had the same thing written. Buck got a shoutout on the broadcast as well. Just goes to show that we truly have the best in the biz working the Jays broadcasts.

I would like an upgrade on Tapia.
Quote:
Now that the draft has been completed, that has become a moot point. Signing Conforto is no longer connected to any kind of forfeiture of draft picks or bonus pool money. Naturally, Conforto is now garnering more interest, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Heyman speaks to Boras, who says that he got four phone calls about Conforto after the draft and that “there is very strong interest by some very good teams.”
When asked to list the teams that were interested, Boras said “They’re all in the United States except one,” hinting that the Blue Jays are one of the teams at the table. The involvement of the Jays isn’t terribly surprising, given that they had previous interest in the offseason as part of their desire to add left-handed hitting. Around the same time that the news of Conforto’s injury came out, the Jays acquired a different lefty bat in Raimel Tapia. Since Tapia has hit .275/.300/.388 this season for a wRC+ of 91, or 9% below league average, it stands to reason that Toronto still thinks they can upgrade in that department.

I must be tired. I read “Signing Conforto is no longer connected to any kind of forfeiture of draft picks or bonus pool money.” as “Signing Coronato is no longer…” and thought seems about right.

Don't you think the Nats want prospects? I'd think a package would include Biggio
