If rangers are involved I want Lafrenière.
Kid is going to pop and become an elite power forward himself.

None of those will be a Selkeholm.

LA is interesting, I would be intrigued to see what package of futures they would offer. Screw the rags, send him to the Island if he wants the big apple.

It's not screwing the team by choosing where he wants to play once he hits UFA. It's really the only time players get to choose.
He's not demanding a trade, he's willing to go to arbitration and get a one year deal. It's simply in Calgary's best interest to trade him so he doesn't walk for nothing.

Honestly, both are tactical errors by Treliving.
For the Johnny contract, the fact that he insisted on the stupid "Gio" cap really handcuffed himself, so in the end, he was only able to get Johnny on a 6 year deal because he was unwilling to sign for more money.
Had the Flames offered Matthew a similar deal that Brady got (8 years x $8M) rather than insisting on max $7M per year, I really think Chucky would have signed it then. Again, a tactical error by Treliving that came back to bite him, just like the Johnny deal.

Flames are supposed to have him for 7 years -- he says nah brah, you get me for 6, with some trading power. People here are congratulating him for how honest he is, when really he is screwing the team hard.
Gaudreau gave up two years of UFA status and signed a very team friendly deal. People continue to #### on him.

Not a huge fan of either anymore after all this truthfully.
The truth is they both kind of screwed us.

So with those 5 teams: St Louis, Dallas, Florida,
Vegas and Nashville.
Tkachuk for Sam Bennett! Lol.
Ok jokes aside. St Louis I feel for Calgary makes the most sense. I hope he doesn’t go to Vegas.

The Flames have a bunch of stellar deadline day bait too....I'd like to see them get 6+ 1st round 2023 draft picks. Move Toffoli, Coleman, Tanev, Lindholm, Zadorov, Markstrom, and Backlund.

If they're getting lowballed (ie St. Louis taking anyone of value off the table) would rather Flames take the arbitrator's decision then trade him now. Make him play for the Flames until a team pays the price. Or what Burke did with Cammalleri. Rather just not trade a guy at all then give him up for scraps and let teams know you can be had. Plus he doesn't actually have a NTC. St. Louis won't necessarily have the best deal at the trade deadline. Maybe you make a March trade with Ottawa and suddenly Matthew likes playing with his brother.
Basically I want to screw St. Louis.

Eichel and Tkachuk would be at each other's throats. Could be fun to watch.

LA would be hilarious. He can room with Drew D. Don't see it though - don't like him in-division. Also don't like the players they'd have to dump on Calgary.

If the Flames are going to get a bad deal I hope he goes to Vegas. Wouldn’t mind seeing them dominate the Pacific for the next 3 years.

Twitter reaction tells me that just about every fan base out there wants their team to take a run at a deal for Tkachuk.

La has one of the best prospect base/young players in the league. Calgary could do well there with a trade.
