Vegas just doesn't have the prospect capital anymore. Karlsson, Hague, Brisson, 1st would get them in the conversation, but only the 2024 is an add beyond that.
Florida has Denisenko and Samskovich but their next two firsts are gone already. That means a big ticket roster player coming back with the two prospects, and Florida is in big cap trouble. I don't see a path.
Nashville is an interesting dark horse. Kemell, Tomasino, Tolvanen and 1st? They have cap to spare.
Dallas has the pieces to make this happen. Wyatt Johnson, Stankhoven and Gurianov would be a really nice deal. They are flush with cap.
Those are the rumored teams on Tkachuk's list. Dallas has the ability to put up the best offer, if they decide to.
|
Those are all overwhelming. I will be calling for Tre's head if he did any of those.

Peca might have been the prior negotiation...think it was when Peca was holding out in Buffalo and that was before his great 01-02 season (which by that point Peca then went to the Islanders)
I think this one might have been Simon Gagne+ from Philly as one of the big rumors I remember.

Good GM's lock up their good young players when they have the hammer, for some reason Treliving stopped doing that.

He didn't IIRC. He could only get a longer contract if he offered more money. He didn't have more money.

New Jersey seems like a logical destination with Simon Nemec and Alexander Holtz being the centerpieces. They have a wealth of high end prospects and young players and have the cap-space.

If it's true he only wants no tax jurisdictions it's tougher. But the Flames shouldn't limit themselves to his list. Maybe someone offers more on a hope that he will sign.

At least we'll be an up and coming team again.
Could be fun.. but please maximize this trade.

But you see, he had to keep Frolik, and had Stone at $3.5 mil, and had just bought out Brouwer. His hands were tied.

Get used to the fact it will be a quantity of assets coming Calgary's way.
Now it won't be a poo poo platter by any means, but there won't be a player that is particularly close to Tkachuk's value.
If Treliving holds out for a player as good as Robertson, we'll be waving good bye to Tkachuk just like Johnny.
|
Calgary holds plenty of cards here, they have a bunch of teams to get GM's bidding against eachother and plenty of time to do it. The return will be better than you think it will.

What is the deadline now? Aug 11? (end of the arbitration period?)

I feel like the Rangers will be in on this because they're the Rangers and they're in on everything. After coming so close this season they're probably in the mood for a big move. And Chucky strikes me as a guy who would love to be in Madison Square Garden every night.

Well it was fun having a good team for one season. Maybe it’ll happen again in 15 years.

Honestly - I think the Stars give up the best goalie, forward, and dman.

I wonder how Zadorov feels after just re-signing in Calgary and getting assurances from Treliving that the Flames aren't rebuilding. I mean, they may not rebuild/retool this season I guess, but Zadorov is probably a bit upset at this news right now.
