I agree, I think we will be fine. If I could choose, I would choose to trade Tkachuk rather than sign him for 10+ per year, he is just not worth that imo

I'm actually okay with this. As much as a unicorn Tkachuk is, I didn't want the Flames building around another winger as it's franchise cornerstone.

I appreciate that he was forthright in his intentions however, and gives the Flames an opportunity to recoup some assets.

While this off season has been a brutal one as a Flames fan, I will still cheer for them whole heartedly. Remember we are still a Sutter coached team. Now we just likely pivot to boring hockey. lol

Honestly, what a horrible off season. Two star players, like elite players, that don't want to be here. I mean I get it from Matt, I expected it from Matt, he's a chip off of his old man's fat head.

I think trade Matt for as many draft picks and good prospects as you can. Trade Elias, Markstrom, Everyone. Accumulate draft picks. Then scout the Quebec Senior league and just fill the team with cement heads and psycho paths and brawlers, and just be that hornet's nest team of killers for a couple of years.

At least that'd be amusing.
