Hopefully the offers don’t get worse.

Kyrou is a good player, but that offer feels like the Iggy trade.

Well, considering the Flames (with good reason) thought they had a good handle on Gaudreau, at that point they are keeping the band together.
That said, there's no reaosn that proposal doesn't still work except the 2023 draft is stronger and STL may perceive Calgary to be more desperate. Still, I think Treliving is a pretty cold blooded negotiator on value. He doesn't look for huge wins and losses - he seems to look for square deals on value.

Kyrou is better than anything the Iggy trade by a country mile. That's the kind of return I am expecting though unless a team really surprises. Flames will not win a Tkachuk trade.

So Krug was willing to waive his NTC to move to Calgary just a year after signing with StL. Right....
Is Eklund on Instagram?

That Blues trade would be decent. It will be really unlikely to be blown away by the return, but at least I don't hate it.
(I haven't seen anything of Krug since Boston. Has he regressed badly?)

If the Blues are trading him over Tarasenko I'd assume so lol

I feel like Stuetzle or Batherson + a 1st would be nice. Both are likely 1st liners soon if not already, plus who knows what happens with Ottawa this year in that division, the 1st likely still has lottery potential.
Obviously would rather have Tkachuk long term but that return's way better than him just walking for nothing next year.

Kyrou + cap dump + prospect/1st would be a pretty insane package - depending on who the cap dump is.
Keep in mind, Kyrou is a RS C who just put up 75pts in 74games and just recently turned 24.

It seems the direct opposite of the Iggy trade.
Subtracting the first round pick from both, the Blue's offer contains two viable players.

Stuetzle is going no where. He has more trade value that Tkachuk.
That would be a home run for Treliving.

Personally, I'd rather see Kyrou, Neighbours and a 1st coming back.
Whether or not that is possible, I have no idea.

Blues would then need to move out someone else in another deal to free up more cap space.
I like the return though!

24 year old Tkachuk is better and more valuable than 35 year old Iginla by a country mile. Agreed this will be a tough trade to win.
Flames need a Duchene/Karlsson type deal where they land a surprise top 4 pick

Tarasenko (who still WANTS to be traded), Kyrou and a pick. 2024 1st just to make the Blues happy.
That'd definitely stem the bleeding.

He is a winger not a center.
Mangiapane-Lindholm-Kyrou as the top line. Not the worst but a significant downgrade on what we had last year

I don't want to think about Kyrou + 1st being offered and us rejecting it. I reject believing that just as I am rejecting the notion that we could have had 2nd overall + Holtz.

If they re-signed Gaudreau, I would not have loved that Kyrou return personally.
