If you're willing to respec, the Fallingstar Beast Jaw can do a number on them both.

But if you stay magic caster, getting close for two Meteorite of Astel is pretty much a done deal with how big the Elden beast is. Pest threads (low faith requirement) for the same reason will also rip its health if you've been keeping up with the Millicent questline.

You think Elden Ring or Demon Souls is harder?

I recall how excited people were for the remake and holy heck, going back to look at the original PS3 graphics - the Bluepoint update is wild. Like even the work on something like 20:30 is impressive.

Demon's Souls is way harder. Elden Ring let's you do some different things and level up stats and equipment etc.if you have troubles with bosses and also co-op and summons. I just tried Demon's Souls PS5 and though it looks amazing I gave up already as it was just too difficult. My opinion anyways...

I have Meteorite of Astel but you have to be pretty close for that to hit and close combat isn't my specialty as I use wands in each hand when using gravity spells. I've got the closest using Comet Azur as a primary spell. I'm getting closer and should take it down this week.

I honestly found Elden Ring to be one of the easiest of all the From Soft games but that could be because I had already played through Demon's souls, Dark souls 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro before hand. Sekiro is the hardest game I've ever played and I'm still shocked I was able to beat it. I absolutely love Elden Ring though. It's a true masterpiece.

Demon's souls was really hard for me at the time but I think that was more so a product of it being my first experience to games like this. I'll revisit it in a bit and get a better idea likely for the difficulty. I think it was more challenging to get through the levels and unlock shortcuts in Demon's souls due to there not being any checkpoints or bonfires (i.e. starting right at the beginning again when you die).

I saw people closing out of the game to avoid doing a boss run back for Demon Souls. Would make it a bit less frustrating on bosses I guess.

Elden Ring is by far the easiest From game IMO. Once I got up and going with the right spells and equipment I generally breezed through the game. The toughest challenges for me were the initial ones when my level wasn't high enough and the last one. Everything in-between was not nearly as challenging as the Souls games, Bloodborne, or Sekiro. I don't mind them making the game more accessible to gamers but I would hope that they don't make future games any easier than Elden Ring. Really the only thing I would improve about Eldon Ring is that the game needs to do a little bit better job of giving you direction as I had to find out a lot of stuff from Reddit or toil for days looking in the wrong areas for NPC's or questlines.

Also hats off to anyone that finished Sekiro. I just couldn't beat the end boss. I hate not finishing games but after probably thousands of attempts I accepted that I just lacked the twitch response to take him down.

yeah... I'm in the same boat (though you got much further than i did)... loved all the other souls games before (haven't tried Demon's Souls just yet, as I only recently picked up the PS5) and haven't picked up Elden Ring yet.

I got stuck early in the game, and this Dragon Rot is becoming more of an issue - though i read it never really matters too much.

I will circle back to it after HFW, as the game play is so great and From Software is such a great developer...I just have to just "git gud" I guess.

One of the challenges with Demon's souls is the fact it seems like it has deliberate timing that on occasion is a good 1-3 seconds slower than your instinct on auto pilot. After playing Blood Borne, Sekiro, Dark Souls (but not yet Elden Ring) and pulling up the game on PS plus extra, I started realizing that I often died if I tried to rush sections of the game rather than square up each enemy. You'll easily bunch up enemies and/or put yourself in a bad position to get hit multiple times. But I get it. I often kinda rush areas because of confusion due to lack of directional guidance. You have to kinda old school remember the layout and sometimes it's 10-20 minutes between progression saves vs other games that have the ability to progression save essentially every 1-2 minutes.

If Sekiro is the game you had to be frustratingly fast, Demon's Souls you have to be occasionally be frustratingly slow. Dark Souls and Bloodborne are in between. IIRC, when Demon's Souls first came out, one of the praises it got was that it was a major throwback to the old school style of challenge and sense of accomplishment that most games around that era completely lacked.

I'm aiming to finish off Horizon Forbidden West before going back to Demon's Souls. The style and mindset differences of each game are poison to each other. It throws off the controls if I bounce back and forth between those controls. After that, I was thinking either Alan Wake or Elden Ring.

Yeah, there are huge pacing differences between all the games. Demon's Souls and the first Dark Souls are way slower paced than some of the others. I find it especially challenging to parry in the games other than Sekiro and Blooborne due to the slower timing. Due to that, I often just ditch a shield and focus on dodging.

still clearing my backlog of PS4 games I want to play before I finally get my hands on a PS5 at some point, so I started Detroit: Become Human yesterday. The controls are a bit frustrating at times, but I like the setting and idea so far. Certainly an interesting way of telling a story, especially since there's so many different possibilities depending on your choices. Curious to see how many runs you'd have to do in order to see every possible outcome.

I've only just started but how far did you get before you stopped?

I know it's a remake of a 10+ year old game and they did try to honor it I think. The first level to get to the boss is kinda long and the usual "shortcuts" are not like what I got used to in Elden Ring.

Halving people's health and preventing them from ever gaining a level unless they can reach and kill the first boss seems pretty hostile to people trying to get into the game (compared to say Elden Ring).

It seems extra silly considering you can get 20+ levels immediately afterwards once you do kill that first boss and are allowed to level. I'm not surprised if lot of people bounced off of it before it even going to deep into it 13 years ago lol.

I took my time with Stray, as I really wanted to enjoy it, and found that the more I played it, the more I wanted to play it.

I think it's an amazing game, thoroughly enjoyable. I loved it.

I'm seeing so many videos on social media with real cats reacting to the game on the tv.

I can see that. I played on PC, and while my cats (I have three) all certainly came by at some point (they use my desk to get to a window) none of them were interested in what's on the monitor. I did have to stop playing several times to give them some attention, though.
