At least the other players on the team will ultimately all know that the team management was willing to do what it takes to keep the team together and try to win. I don't think it's that bad a look for Treliving wrt the rest of the players if that's the way it went down.
If it did go down this way I'm pretty sure most of the players thought he was coming back.

I know the Oilers and Canucks couldn't light him up the past 8 years but yeah unleash Dube and Kylington on him.

It’s not that simple and they were already in 10th place last year.

Teams can fluctuate +\- 10 points year to year on pure luck alone.

There can be internal growth too. Columbus has some real good young players in Johnson, Sillinger, Boqvist, Texier, Bemstrom, Foudy, and Chinakov and they will be getting better with more experience and will improve the team.

I could easily see them in a battle with Washington and Pittsburgh for a spot as those teams get older. They are likely better than NJ, NYI, and Philly.

I’m not arguing that Gaudreau is innocent, but people getting upset because people are saying his wife didn’t have any major play in it is a joke.

Body language on the second half of the video when he talks about meeting all the guys is fascinating, guy can barely string a sentence together.

Karma is a bitch, glad to watch that cringy interview.

What did Lewis Gross say? I must have missed it. I picture him to look and sound like Lewis from Suits.

Which circles back to the A in AHS being the big obstacle for her.

Edit…as if she’s really going to work in nursing in the foreseeable future anyways. With the family income they have from Gaudreau’s income I don’t understand why she’d plan on working anyways with a baby about to enter their lives. Most parents would love to be able to afford a parent to stay at home. If she doesn’t then I have to disagree with her priorities.

I don't remember where I read this, could be on Twitter, but some one said that she doesn't plan on working after she gave birth to their kid. I have no source, because I do not remember where I saw it. I've been on Twitter too much the past few days.

She have been living in Calgary for quite a few months, she must've told the husband that she doesn't want to stay. What I have problem with is some here saying directly or in directly, the reason Gaudreau stringing the Flames along is because of the wife.
Sure. I'm on board with that. That is 100% on him.

You know...again, we're trying to make bricks without clay here.

But I wonder if the thought process might have been somewhere along the lines of:

"Maybe if they offer enough money...maybe she'll soften her stance?"

I mean...come on. It sounds like something stupid a guy would do. I could see it.

Within like an hour of the news breaking that Gaudreau was going to free agency he sent out this tweet through Friedman.

"The Flames did everything they could. This came down to a family decision."

Which was weird at the time because I’ve never seen an agent do that, and it actually potentially hurt his own clients negotiating power.

This was my exactly. My wife intially said no to a move. I said what if it was money? She said if they match my salary in your raise, yes. (Among a few other things)

Well, here I am. Lol

But as I noted, even after getting everything we asked, we still entertained the thought of rejecting it. So I can empathize with the difficulty of making a decision. What I don't empathize with is negotiating in bad faith. I let my bosses know well in advance of my wife's apprehension.

Well everyone's sitting here cheering on Murray Edwards for this supposed victory in the negotiation ring but the only thing this highlights for me is:

1.) Players do not want to play here, even if they are payed over market value.

2.) We have ownership team who gets involved in the salary negotiations of even the most valuable team members. edit: and when I mean "get involved", I mean that they drive the outcome. How does this look for prospective free agents?

Ouch. Calgary takes the L here.

This is a tough pill to swallow for me.

Hopefully he is having a boy and not a girl. That state took a giant dump on women's rights and will likely continue that assault.
