I said elsewhere that Gaudreau has set the high water mark for UFAs this year so I’d give Kadri a term to get him to the age of the end of Gaudreau’s deal (ie 4 years) and $$ based on 70% of Gaudreau’s career PPG because that’s what Kadri scored (73% this year). That’s a 4 year $7M deal. It also happens to match Calgary’s perceived window.

That'd be an awesome contract but Kadri will get 6 -7 years from someone

Tkachuk and Kadri on a line would be pretty miserable. Tkachuk and Kadri on the top two lines would be a miserable one two punch. Coleman, Lindholm, Dube and even Bread aren’t shy either.

Lacks offence, IMO.
Swap one of those parts out for someone more dynamic (and expensive) and you may have a decent roster if younger guys can step up though.

It’s awesome because it makes some rational sense in the market. I have my doubts if someone wants to give Kadri a high AAV like 7-8 M to age 39 though.

I think that Sutter gave him a bit of tough love, but I think the coach likes him-and he had a very good response to being benched, with a pretty long scoring streak. I think he has it in him to be a top-6 player.
Edit: I see we are talking about something else…..
