And on that note, Danielle Smith was on Jerspersen this morning
Just listening to this..."[covid vaccine] ...is not like polio vaccine for instance. You get a polio shot don't need to get multiple shots of polio vaccine"
Quote:
Children in the United States should get inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) to protect against polio, or poliomyelitis. They should get four doses total,
I thought these people did their research? This is another clear example of her being either ignorant and pretending she knows what she is talking about, or being purposefully deceitful. She does this all the time. Yet rubes cheer for her "telling it like it is". Such a depressing slice of humanity.

They do no research, they talk to "experts" and regurgitate the parts they want to-If it comes from a politician and they want to believe it, some people will believe it with no proof.
If something they say turns out not to work, it's someone else's fault. In her interview (29:30) she says the over 100k raised to battle Johnson and Johnson over their vaccines, 30k went to the law firm of her campaign chair, she spoke of interviewing doctors who are too afraid of the Federal government to speak out against the mandates and be banned from their field worldwide. She's working with the Pro Freedum "justice centre for constitutional freedoms" who's leader John Carpay seems to be just a great guy on his own is a real piece of work.
Also All flights out of Alberta would be "charters" to avoid any future mandates (sounds like the "travellers" in the US) and our own Internet providers so the Feds can't control it.
She crazy

I'm pretty sure it's the bolded. These people don't care enough to actually learn about anything they talk about, whether it's medicine, tech, the environment, you name it.
Some other Coles Notes from that interview this morning:
- says AHS actively tried to sabotage the UCP during the pandemic (what??)
- Feds have declared "war" on Alberta and the feds are "lawless"
- She isn't a lawyer but understands the Charter better than lawyers (particularly Howard Anglin)
- said she knows a black lesbian who said slavery and vaccinations are the same
- wants microschools, a la Little House on the Prairie
- condemns polarization but then pumps the tires on Theo Fleury
- wants all Albertans to be diplomats that can fly charter flights into the US
and the big one, at least to me:
- will NOT call an election early if she gets in as Premier.
Why? I can only suspect because she knows she's unelectable to the general public (she said so herself before), and her six months as Premier would allow her to pass some absolutely wild ####.
Albertans - do not, under any circumstances, let this egotistical, grifting, power-hungry ass clown become your leader. Christ almighty.

Saying the constitution in that regard would have been perfectly reasonable.
Canada has a constitution. It includes the bill of rights outlined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms which is aptly the first section of the Constitution Act, 1982.

Presumably the moderate conservative uprising, to which I say WTF are they (and have they) been waiting for?
They don't exist. The ones pretending to be moderate are better described as blind followers. They might complain a little about their own party but will still vote conservative every time. My father in law, a self described moderate conservative, literally said "our only choice is to vote [ucp] and hope that they change." Think about that for a second.

I went to conservative church last weekend. Moderate cons in Calgary are starting to fold in behind Rebecca Shultz, but she doesnt have the profile outside of Calgary to carry the party nomination. Meanwhile Danielle is piling in the donations and getting the memberships, packing rooms, and is starting to peel off supporters from others that are masquerading as centrists like Toews.
Shultz might have a chance against Rachel in a general election but I don't think she has a chance to win the party. Kind of like Charest. lol

As a UCP hater, I would love if she won. she's be the worst possible choice as leader and the NDP will mop the floor with her.

I agree completely, but I fear deeply for the in between. The winner of the UCP nomination WILL be the premier without the need for a general election. It's just a matter of how long she can keep the bus together or if it makes it all the way to the actual drop.
I suspect there will be insurgency against her until the end, but they'll get her elected in a byelection in an extremely safe riding in rural alberta. Then the UCP moderates will give her at least a couple months to hang herself. But that's still a couple months of Premier Danielle Smith. A couple months too many.
