I don't know if this is about family, as this really isn't massively closer by plane.
But I can assure you one thing, it certainly wasn't about wanting to win.

If he actually countered an offer to Calgary, he was of the mindset he was staying. You don’t counter unless you want to be there. Period. Brad, you didn’t move heaven and earth and do all you could. A counter, could have been signed and sealed. He’d be a Flame. This is such bs from both.
