Interesting. He's spent his career with lower division sides in Spain, and was in youth squads for Nantes in France and Getafe of La Liga. He is also a Haitian international, and was on their gold cup team that knocked Canada out of the tournament in 2019. Based on all that I think he'll do well in CPL!

Personally I love the multi-year deal. Between Cantave, Bevan (who has been a pleasant surprise) and Mason, our forward ranks are looking great.
We're also getting some wonderful play out of guys like Escalante and Simmons.
Now we just need to kick the injury bug and we're going to do great.
Assuming Pepple is indeed gone, I have confidence in the team and in the wake of his departure.

Cavalry have successfully replaced every long term injury or departure via new signings or internal depth. I have faith this signing will work out as well...

I'm just so glad to have this team to cheer for and to be able to ignore the Flames for a while.
I called to buy some group tickets, and Ben Fisk answered the phone. Super super nice guy. I wonder if offering positions with the team is commonplace or if it gives us an advantage in signing players?

It is likely cap circumvention.

Agreed! I'm done with the Flames for a while after yesterday's news. Feels like their wheel has gone backward and my interest has really dropped for now.
The Cavs also made a bigger splash in the free agent market today than the Flames did, haha.

Anybody know if there is a way to watch these games in the US? I wanted to see them live so bad, but unfortunately they were on the road last time I was in town, hoping the games are being streamed

Pretty sure the only (legal) way is to subscribe to OneSoccer. I watch away games on my phone/laptop. I think it's like $80 a year.

Side benefit of watching the games on OneSoccer - they have great panel discussions on the teams before-halftime-after the games, and sometimes you get the legendary Nigel Reed (of the FIFA games) commentating! They also have all CMNT/CWNT games and CONCACAF competitions.
I find it's worth it, if only for the Cavs games and the national team games.

I believe in the US you need FuboTV.

You can watch onesoccer anywhere, but some content like national team games need a Canadian ip address. I have a VPN to deal with that.

The Canadian national team games have been on Paramount+ here, so that isn’t a concern

Yeah just might be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure I can watch the cpl games without a VPN when I'm overseas

I've watched CPL games from the US with no issues on OneSoccer with no VPN.

If the US version of Fubo has OneSoccer (I believe it does), then go for Fubo. I currently have both OneSoccer stand-alone and OneSoccer on Fubo (subscriptions are overlapping for now), but I’ll be keeping Fubo.
OneSoccer’s site is clunky, and the on-demand matches don’t go on there until a day or more later. Fubo has a PVR and you can start watching the recording from the start while still in progress, or instantly afterwards. That is huge for me because I’d rather avoid the score, put the kid to bed, and watch at my leisure. If you’re always going to watch live, then OneSoccer on its own is probably fine.
I’m sure that OneSoccer still gets paid a little from Fubo, though admittedly not as much as their own direct subscription. But they do need to improve their web site a bit. Until then, Fubo is much better for my needs.

Depending on your cable package most games are shown on one of the fox sports channels. I find about 75% of the games are shown live on them. I have both one soccer and an IPTV subscription and typically I'll just use my IPTV connection with no problems.
