So far the signing make it look like Brad Pascale is the one running the show.

Is he related to Greg Gilbert?

Hopefully he’s filling a roster spot on the farm

Roster fillers for tank mode? Or replacing Johnny in aggregate. Who could say!?

Maybe Treliving got demoted to run the AHL team.

Looks like BT took option on work today and its Craig Conroy and the summer interns filling in.
Edit: Brad Treliving is at the Cowboys tent slamming Tequila Sodas

Didn't he let Cammalleri, the Flames' leading scorer, walk for nothing?

He stuck to his guns, and wouldn’t sell Cammalleri for less than a 3rd.
Hardly the same thing as having no internal deadlines or plans to allow himself the flexibility to do anything for the good of the team if Gaudreau didn’t want to come back.

This gets trotted out every year.
If Ruzicka is ready he's going to play. Having some NHL depth at salaries that can buried with no cap implications is a good thing. You have depth for injuries and you keep the young players honest.
Calgary (luckily) has never been an organization that just gifts players spots based on their prospect ranking.

Cammalleri was not Johnny Gaudreau.
He was not a franchise player. He was not in the organization’s plans moving forward. He played six playoff games for this city, four years earlier, and had already left once.
He also wasn’t holding up a potential deal for the 2nd overall pick.
Burke held out to try and get a 2nd - nobody budged.
Our history of 3rd round selections is laughable - Craig Anderson, Matt Lombardi, and Brandon Prust are the HIGHLIGHTS.

Kinda hoping this means some Heat players will be playing for the Flames this year, and these are going to fill in some spots in the farm system.

Yup. Clearly a team without Gaudreau doesn't need 4th-line forwards or 3rd-pair defencemen.
What the Flames really need is to trade away all their players, sign nobody, and rebuild from nothing, because there is no such thing as a cap floor and they have no obligation to put a team on the ice next season. If Treliving weren't so incredibly stupid, he would have waved his magic wand and forced Bettman to let the franchise suspend operations for a year. Then they would be guaranteed to finish dead last and draft Bedard.
