Also has been able to produce for the most part on the second line.

There likely would be - if they want Tkachuk. Realistically they'd have trouble squeezing in Thomas, Kyrou and Tkachuk and putting a decent team around them.

I know Tkachuk would love to go to St. Louis. I'm just not sure the Blues would have the same level of interest based on what Tkachuk's going to want on a deal.

Stl would have the interest no doubt.
But do they have the desire to part with the assets the Flames would need to make it happen.

Surely 1 of Thomas (unlikely with the recent signing) or Kyrou is the starting ask.
Likely a 1st round pick.

If kyrou + is on the table I think you have to take it and run. The chance that Tkachuk signs here long term just cratered.

Or they wait a year and get him for nothing. I’m sure there is mutual interest and I’m not sure how many other teams will trade for Tkachuk unless he’s signed long term.

Sure they can wait, but the Flames can trade him elsewhere then and there's a risk he signs with that team instead.

If STL covet Tkachuk (and why wouldn't they) they make the move now if hes available.
They cant afford to have Kyrou, Thomas and Tkachuk making north of 8M anyway.

Thinking Tkachuk can just join STL next year as an UFA. Blues wouldn’t have to give anything up, just figure out how to add Tkachuks salary.

Almost as soon as Giroux left Phi, it sounded like he was headed to Ottaws. Probably one of those worst kept secrets kind of things. He just built his retirement home in the area.

Disagree I want to get futures back for Chucky not a worse player who is the same age. Kyrou is good but why add a 25 year old when this team will not be a top contender.

High end prospects, picks or players 22 or younger for Chucky is my preference
