He wears out his welcome with every team and locker room by 3/4 of the way through a first season.

With the dysfunction in the Oilers room that may be longer, but he can’t keep out of trouble off the ice either. But by end of season 2 he will be gone.

Interesting he signs before the proceedings about his status with the Sharks hit, probably another reason he was eager to sign asap, to make it more complicated with the Sharks.

And I assume Oilers only team, given his checkered, wear out his welcome history, to take a chance on him for 4y, as I assume he and his agent did some checking these past days (don’t call it tampering) and realized he wasn’t getting more than 2 years anywhere else.

Safety of Canada too, given some of his debts on the books and more importantly, off the book debts, down in the US.

Yes,pure trash too.

Classic Oilers media, leak some ridiculous demands so everyone thinks the contract is a bargain. Sharks couldn't give this guy away. He talked to other teams and nobody was willing to give him anywhere near this.

Oilers gave him permission to talk to other teams to judge his worth.

He was the leading point producer last year on the Sharks.

He scored 22 goals in 39 games this year with the Oilers. People can talk about his off ice decisions (some of them are true but some are not), but on the ice he is a good player.

Incident at Christmas time, apologizes, probably something next Summer as well. Dressing room despises him by Christmas 2023, traded at the deadline Feb 2024.

Yup and no one was giving him 4 years. Or anything close to that, it pretty emphatically.

Just like Khaibhulin and his bad back, but the Oilers gave him a 5 year deal when most were offering 2.

And the Sharks didn't want him back

Are you trying to say I'm wrong and there are other teams that would have given him this deal? Because I highly doubt it

Which ones are true and which ones are not? That was a bizarrely definitive statement.

That contract indicates to me that the market wasn't what he thought it would be for his services and i'd suspect that is largely due to the scum bag he is, because his production should say otherwise.

The Oilers are a desperate franchise, they will do anything to cater to Connor McDavid to ensure his resigning when time comes, even if that means signing this scum bag of a human. I'm not surprised by the franchises stance and decision, even when he was brought in last season.

I'm glad he is nowhere near the Flames, I'd reject signing this type of human for league min.

Can PM you information directly. Not comfortable putting legal information out on the main board.

Riiiiiiight.

If you had ‘legal information’, you wouldn't be passing it along as gossip in PM any more than on the main board. So it appears that what you actually have is someone else's gossip that has been passed along to you. And you take that gossip as gospel, and expect us to do the same.

I guess he doesn’t proof-read his texts announcing a contract to the world. ‘Apart’. What a professional. Must have been hanging out with Kassian. Evander, you do know you can hire people to help you with that? And they’re not that expensive….
