I doubt it. Players are all looking after themselves. Winning is rarely top priority when you are a depth player. It's all about maximizing your earning potential.

Yeah 100% on point what I was going to respond. You don't take a pay cut as a 4th-6th defensemen based on what a star player signs. You have to look after yourself because you never know if you have a bad year or even get injured it could be one of the last good paydays you get in your career

Those who watched Stockton closely said Valimaki didn't even look good at the AHL level. At this point, I think that shot needs to be given to someone else.
