Wishful thinking I guess.
Probably a move for Johnny or another big UFA.
They needed space regardless so tough to say for sure.

Until JVR, Konecny, or Provorov move I wouldn't be too worried.
Philly needs cap room just to sign their own guys like Frost too.

Ha ha ha. Oh well we always knew this was a high possibility. I just wish the GM traded him to the Flyers a few years ago so the team may have some up and coming prospects in the pipeline from the deal that could have been ready to plug in this coming season.

With this buyout, and with teams allowed to spend 10% over the cap in the off-season, Philly can sign a player to a maximum $11,701,893 AAV contract tomorrow.
It really seems like this is it.

I may be a bad person but I'm totally waiting for Bobby Clarke to repeat history when asked about the Flyers buying out Lindblom.

Konecny will be easy to move. Several teams will line up to take him off their hands. Even the Flames should kick the tires if Johnny leaves.
