It sounds like according to Behar he was yapping the night before, and then saying racist stuff on the field, twisting limbs in the pile and then an incredibly dirty play. Its not like the first time Marino has acted like an idiot on the field.
I would hope that the league does the right thing and gives him a multigame suspension, though they won't because it will be appealed anyways.
I would hope Craig does the right thing and does what coaches should do with players like this and tell him, here's a bus ticket turn in your playbook.
The fact that Rider fans boo'd the ejection and cheered his clown show celebration was embarressing.
I'd say if Marino is still a member of the Riders after this week, that teams should deliberately try to run up the score on them.
That was embarrassing to the Riders, and the CFL.

Great game to silence the critics like me who've been concerned about how the Bombers have played so far.

So it's been a couple of days now, has Marino expressed any remorse for his intent to injure on multiple plays on Friday night coupled with celebrating and flexing on the sidelines?

I was at the game. I am not defending what the player did, i hope he is disciplined by both league and Roughriders. These are just my observations from being at the game.
Those at the game would not have seen any replay on the big screen. It was a passing play so most would missed any late hit and and not known what he had done, specially the section that the cheers were coming from as he walked out of the playing field as it was the opposite end of the field to the play from where the line of scrimmage was.
At the time from my perspective I seen a missed pass and a flag. The player flexed his arms walking to the sideline and Redblacks were mad and they were running toward Riders side of field. I did not know he hit the qb late at that time. Then the penalty was roughing passer with a disqualification. After that ruling i was thinking. "Why was he celebrating roughing up Mosoli? Makes no sense" Around me people were asking what happened. Nobody knew exactly, we just knew someone hit the qb late but wouldn't know how late or if it was dirty or not.
I drive from Saskatoon (2.5h drive) so listened to the post game call in show. Most call ins were about that play. Most people who called in who watched on TSN said the Moreno play was embarassing. Those at the game never commented much on it cause they did not see what happened. I didn't see the replay till the next day but knew it wasn't good as that's what the focus of the post game was.

Masoli will miss 10-12 weeks, could return before end of season

Good that he doesn't need surgery but probably ends their chances of making the playoffs given they are already 0-4 and likely only the top two east teams will make it. Such a shame given the play was not accidental.

Elks have named Taylor Cornelius as their starter this week versus Montreal. Nick Arbuckle needs to be traded to Ottawa to fill the void while Masoli is out of the lineup.

Re the Marino investigation by @CFL: Along with the 2 plays vs Masoli & Boyd, I’m hearing they’re also looking into allegations of racist comments (something Nate Behar alluded to post game). Reminder a league exec was suspended indefinitely last year for an inappropriate slur

The rap sheet on Marino continues to grow - He went low on Masoli late in the 2021 season and there's this Trevor Harris tweet below.

Late to the party but get this piece of kyit out of the CFL. That celebration walking off the field is prob one of the worst things i've seen in the CFL. EVER!

D-bag player on a d-bag franchise from the armpit of Canada.
Riders have a long and proud history of d-bags - didn't they have a player that was sleeping with people while knowingly having aids in the 90s or 00s? How many players in the Shivers and Jones era had lengthy criminal records and were known d-bags?
Hopefully he is kicked from the league but knowing how bush league the CFL is they will fine him $2.85 and make him pinky-promise to never be so obvious about his d-baggery again. He will be in the starting lineup for the next game and get a standing ovation from the inbred hicks of the flatland.

Going to be tough to suspend him for more than one game given the history of the CFLPA nearly always getting suspensions reduced or overturned. Player safety has never been a high priority for CFLPA.

I don't think the Riders will cut Marino mainly because the safest place to keep this guy is on their roster. Don't think for a second that Chris Jones would hesitate to pick him up if the Riders made Marino available.

Takes one to know one, and you sure seem to know a lot about d-bags.
