First and foremost, I don’t blame you. What I’m about to say isn’t about you or this info specifically.
These situations are so weird, because there are basically 2-3 people who actually know what’s going on. Here, that’s basically Johnny, Gross, Treliving and maybe a guy like Conroy. Maybe there are some others who hear a few things, but they don’t know the full extent of the negotiations. It’s definitely not the kind of thing that people are just hanging around the water cooler chatting about in the office, and the Flames seem to run things pretty tight as far as leaks go for the past few years.

This is the one of the biggest negotiations in franchise history and you said it yourself with the bolded. Anyone even somewhat near the Flames top management are holding their ears up to the proverbial doors.
Would not surprise me at all at this point in the game to have a few people here and their privy to some details like those posted by these two posters and then having that trickle down to others that are close to people close to the organization.

Do the Flames have any prayer of signing Tkachuk if they agree to 11.5???

Flames initial offer is 9.5 x 8
Gross counters with 11.5 x 8
Flames come back at 10 x 8
Now Grosse will come back at 11x8
Then they will negotiate back and forth until they settle on 10.5x 8. dissentowner ends up right, Johnny stays, we all rejoice! Make it so.

Don’t forget the Trewizardry that gets it back to 10.13x8.

That’s exactly why they won’t know though. It’s a big deal. Organizations that leak things and have negotiations in the media are pretty unprofessional. Say what you like about Treliving, but the Flames are definitely professional with him at the helm.

I actually like that about the Flames organization: they are squeaky tight with info and leaks. Anything that comes out (like Ryan Leslie's "eyes" post....") seems literally to be moments before it's actually announced...and most of the "inside info" that public posters have in previous times stated have proven to be, let's say, "inaccurate".
Posters here have actually proven to be better on average than the "insiders".

Rumour is that Johnny is asking for 12M, I think he deserves it for being way underpaid on his last contract.

Huh? He was behind the Bill Peters hire, wasn't he? Am I living in an alternate universe? Professional?

I do not understand this narrative. Tre is not ripping off RFAs. He’s negotiating an RFA contract, which is far different than UFA. All good GMs do it. In both negotiations both sides are trying to get the best deal. It’s not like if Tre signed Johnny at 7.5m back in 2016 Johnny would be telling Gross to take it easy in the negotiations.

Gaudreau was not "underpaid" on his last deal, and I think it is ridiculous for people to think that he has been pining over the last six years for the first opportunity to stick it to the Flames.
I think your rumour is garbage.

Perhaps, but even then I think the reaction around here from some to this deal was way over the top.

I've heard that Chucky doesn't want to stay if Johnny goes.
I suspect that may include Monny and Hanifin as well.
But that's just wild baseless speculation.

That tweet from Seravelli feels planted to him by Gross for sure.
Try to turn up the heat in the fan base and media on the Flames needing to act
