Novak really never gets enough credit for how great he is on serve. He's not as outwardly dominant as the servebots, but he is just hard to break, especially in the big matches where it seems he's always winning the big service points.

Becker helped the serve. Ivanisevic made it even more reliable.

At least even Nick knows this ain’t happening for him again. Thanks also for keeping the pace of play going so I can get on with the rest of the weekend.

I'm a casual follower of tennis at best, but the runs that Feder, Nadal, and now Djokovic have had really are something. It would be like golf having 3 Tiger woods, overlapping each other.

I want to see Kyrgios verbally abuse the judge as much as he does the umpire for his next court appearance in Australia in August.

Pretty funny that Novak officially drops in the rankings to #7 on Monday.

He'll probably be out of the top 10 altogether when he loses the US Open points, unless something changes there.

It’s all about his legacy and the grand slams now for him.

Congratulations to Novak for #21 and his 7th Wimbledon is impressive. Every year I think it's going to be harder for the big 3 to win the Slams and every year it seems they win at least 75% of them.

Now that grass is done (thankfully) onto the North American hard court circuit and the US Open.

Is this a weak era in tennis outside of Nadal/Djokovic? People always complain about Federer in the early 2000s but let's be honest Casper Ruud or Nick Kyrgios are not better than Safin/Hewitt/Agassi. The only proper player right now outside Nadal/Djokovic is Medvedev and he's only good on 2 slams and bad on clay/grass. Alcaraz could dominate the tour in a few years with so little competition but even that's not a given with recent losses to Sinner and Zverev.

I don't think it's a weak era per se, I just think we need to be more patient with the Next-next-gen guys (and I include Felix as part of that group along with Sinner, Alcaraz, and Rune). I also think Medvedev will go on to win more slams in the future. As for Tsitsipas, he's more of a question mark, but I think he will likely win 2 or 3 before he decides to dedicate his life to philosophical pursuits. We're going to have to wait and see how Zverev looks post-ankle surgery, that looked brutal.

Nice to see Rebecca Marino back in the top 100 regardless of the Wimbledon ranking points shenanigans.

Speaking of rankings, Federer is outside the top 1,000 for the first time in 25 years!

coincidentally, I am also not ranked within the top 1000. a few more years at this rate and I might be able to book an exhibition match against him.
