I don’t understand the push back argument here. People have said he’s tainted in their eyes, nobody is calling for him to be kicked out of the league or anything insane like that.

They are athletes who play a kids game for tens of millions of dollars. It’s not virtue signalling to say you’re no longer a fan of his, but it’s certainly pathetic to get worked up about people not liking a hockey player… for whatever reason.

Because he didn't have a work visa. Article said that last year the US let players in while the work visa is being processed because of the backlog at consulates. This year doesn't look like they are going to do that.

I’m glad to hear the news about Kaprizov and hope that being over here during the war doesn’t cause trouble for any other Russian players or their families.

I think it’s fair to scrutinize or question Russian NHL players’ opinions and actions and also fair to like or dislike them because they are public figures. However, I don’t think it’s fair to judge with great certainty or compare Russia players straight across with each other because we know so little about their individual situations behind the scenes.
