That sounds about right. Johnny for around 10.5. Done.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

good for them. I'd have loved Forsberg here if things had gone sideways with Johnny and/or Chucky.

Good, he doesn't have to be our 2nd hail Mary option now.

@PredsNHL
Smashville, your Nashville Predators are pleased to announce that we have agreed to terms with Filip Forsberg on an eight-year contract!

Seems like a pretty fair contract in this day and age of free agency.

It sounds like a good contract so good for Nashville in retaining a top player.
But isn’t Gaudreau a bit better, more versatile and perhaps more sought after by other teams?
Maybe the offers just weren’t there from other teams for Forsberg or he’s happy in Nashville.

There can't be any offers from other teams until the 13th. Forsberg doesn't have an american hometown pulling at his heartstrings and is happy in Nashville so this signing is not at all surprising.

I think Forsberg is more versatile (and 1 year younger) - Gaudreau is more durable (and better overall). Gaudreau is also a lot more expensive, which likely precludes a few teams from serious interest

I don't live in Nashville and it pulls at my heart strings. Him.and his Mustache will be happy for a long time.

Good contract for both the team and the player. They have three players up front around 8 million now. Forsberg at 8.5, and Duchene and Johansson at 8 million each.
Come on Johnny. Sign the dotted line as well.

No state tax likely kept the AAV down plus the extra year. Pretty consistent goal scorer who just had his first 40 goal season.
