Yes because it's a crap shoot anyway lots of times the best team gets a quick out.

Stevie Y has been beyond patient and it’s showing in the talent they have coming up, Husso is a sneaky good move too I think I really like his poise and style and think he’s ready to be a #1 or at least 1A in a tandem. Couple big UFA’s paired with a new voice at HC and I think they could make some noise too, Kadri is someone I could see Detroit landing.

To get it back on topic… I’m trying to be as hopeful as the information is allowing me to be but damn I can’t wait until it’s a done deal (hopefully!) until then I’m gonna be stressed with the anticipation lol. Please sign Johnny G, you belong in the rafters next to Iggy!

One thing’s for sure and that is we’ll get a more clear picture if Gaudreau does leave if it’s for family or money especially if he signs with another team that’s not Philly or Jersey.
I personally don’t buy him wanting to be closer to his family as the main reason. And now we’re talking about Columbus, Detroit and Seattle.
I believe he’ll stay here with the Flames. Maybe the Flames can offer him his number 13m for the first 5 years and 7m for the last 3, or even 8 for the final three years.

I'm pretty optimistic that a deal will get done with Johnny at around 10.25×8.
I do think it's funny how so many of us are panicking though. How long after Johnny signs do we think it will take until we go back to the conversations of he can't win in the playoffs, can't build a team around a small winger, Brad Treliving screwed us over, etc...?
I'd give it 1.5 seasons.

Being "closer to home", pretty much means anywhere in the East. Particularly the Metro division. He would be in the Philly-NY-NJ area for a big chunk of the year for road games and possibly a short flight or drive away at other times depending exactly where he was, allowing his family to do their road trips and such without disrupting their lives too much.
In fact, it would be ideal for a young family to be close to get more interaction, but not so close that you are not getting some space.

This is like the Eichel saga all over again.
Painfully slow... everyone constantly checking to see if there are any updates.

And an embarrassingly inaccurate tweet from a media personality?
Although it is lacking a prophecy from the mediums on the board. I'm happy to oblige:
Monday during business hours.

All three of those cities are much faster to get to/from his hometown than CGY (though I doubt he goes anywhere else in the western conference)

Jonny is still good friends with his good friends he had before signing the next contract he hasn’t signed yet.
That’s what I take from that photo. Aka nothing

That makes sense. Usually when you see big groups of players together in the summer, it's someone's wedding.
It also likely means there won't be any news on the contract over the next couple of days.

Yeah but there's no way they're not chatting about it and applying some of that old peer pressure.

Also what does a man have to do to inherit Gudbranson-esque genes in his next lifetime?
