Really uncool if Lucic is upset about that. But I trust the source.

It would suggest he doesn’t want to leave Calgary.
I would have thought they would have spoken to him and, if agreeable, he could provide a list of teams he’d accept a trade too.

I think a person can acknowledge this while also then deciding that they don't want to or need to put in the extra effort to fit in to the City's culture.

I think that it would be fun to have looch in the parade even if he was signed with another team. When he is done playing, this is one alumni the retired flames and the fans would embrace.

Lucic shouldn't be surprised, not too hard to look at the situation and understand his cap hit would be far better spent elsewhere through the roster.
I'm not sure how "aggressive" any shopping can even be though. I'd think his only appeal is to cap floor teams with low budgets? Unless Tre's playing hardball and trying to not make the trade just a cap dump for nothing, there's still only likely a handful of teams as possible options.

I’m a bit skeptical about this. Looch agreed to waive his NMC for last year’s expansion draft. He’s a big boy and been around long enough that he shouldn’t be surprised that the Flames may need yo look at moving him. His contract/ bonus provisions were set up so he could be moved in the final year of his deal. His agent should have spelled that out for him if he didn’t already know.
Regardless, Lucic will have some control here. He shouldn’t be too bent out of shape.

He waived because there was zero chance he was going to be selected.
He has all the control here.

Lucic has a 10 team trade list now, the Flames have every right to shop him to those teams. Maybe the Flames found some traction with a team not on that list and asked if he'd waive for them and that pissed him off? Just speculating.
Flames need cap space very badly and Lucic is a past his prime bottom sixer eating up $5.25 million, he should expect to be shopped.

Lucic had to of seen the writing on the wall. He is the oldest most overpaid guy on the roster with a small actual salary. He is also still effective in a limited role so should be movable. Flames need cap to keep the stars so Lucic is cap dump option 1

It was pretty unlikely but the possibility was there. The attributes he brings to the Flames are ones that other teams will value.

I think you guys are taking this to heart. Yeah he probably expected to get shopped, but likewise we should then expect that he's not going to do stuff like dress up in cowboy gear and say yahoo to the boys and girls watching the parade today.

Friedman on the 32 thoughts podcast says that they (as in media) had all heard the rumor that NJ offered the 2nd OA pick for Tkachuk but he says everyone (the teams) are denying it.
He also said that there are teams hovering on Tkachuk waiting to see what the Flames do with him.

Mangiapane should be the one to go, for what he command I think we can get an overall better player via trade or equal money

If Gaudreau walks he is absolutely killing the Flames by saying nothing until the last minute
Unless Treliving trades Tkachuk for a better deal later in summer after Johnny walks

2nd overall sounds nice and all if Tkachuk is going to want to follow Johnny out the door next summer, but if Johnny goes to Philly then you can circle back to Jersey and try for Holtz and their 2023 1st, and if the Devils fail to take a step forward you might end up with a Bedard lottery ticket.

I agree and maybe we are better off with that package but if the devils don’t take a step back and the pick is 20th overall and we don’t get Holtz we will be wishing we got that pick
But it’s clear the devils are interested. Philly got Deangelo too so looking like Jersey could just get Gaudreau if he leaves
First and Bratt for Tkachuk after they get Gaudreau?

Might be enticing for them to have Gaudreau and Tkachuk remain together. They could get Hischier going.
I don’t think a first would be given if they give up Bratt. I’d do Bratt for Tkachuk straight up if Bratt signs a 7/8 year deal with us.
