I'm going to live in this world instead if Lebrun's, as I cannot handle that.

I read this as Treliving trying to act as if he’s ok with not signing Gaudreau, indirectly telling Johnny’s camp to consider which teams will pay more than the flames for his services.

Neither report is especially optimistic. Both boil down to Treliving's vague thoughts about a situation, which is the only point that we've consistently been informed on.

I get that. It’s natural to try to put a positive spin on things. This could be a very bad few days for the Flames.

LeBrun's words were LeBrun's words, not Treliving's words. He could have just as easily changed one or two of them slightly, and the tweet would have sounded much more optimistic. Either way, it's irrelevant, because it is just LeBrun's words.

Based on the LeBrun tweet I don’t feel very optimistic. Obviously lots can change still but you got to think he’s leaning towards testing the market.

Brad was just on the fan960's draft coverage.

Basically said they are working hard to get Johnny and Tkachuk resigned and that there has been a lot of discussion with both camps.

i don't recall words like "there is still a chance" or "remains optimistic".

simply that they are continuing to work at it and signing both is the Flames number 1 priority. He did say that there is a lot of misinformation floating out there on the internet and call in lines, which he understands is the nature of these closed door negotiations.

I am sure this is be up on the Fan960 website relatively soon.

Does anyone expect Johnny news before Tuesday? If he's smart, they stay the course and gain leverage every day until it's sign a deal with Calgary Tuesday or explore UFA on Wednesday.

Those were more specific and more reason for optimism. First time that I have seen Tre discuss what he believes the intentions of John's team are. That is important imo

No. They're the only one reporting this, but the CBA was amended a couple (?) of years ago to remove the "negotiation period" for pending UFAs.
