So Pierre is skipping a leadership debate to whoop it up with Brett Wilson. The leadership debate is run by The Western Standard. Candidates should never have agreed to anything organized by a group of deceitful liars pretending to be media hellbent on tearing our country apart. What are they thinking? Remember The WS spent months lying about covid, the convoy, and cheering on the illegal border blockades.

This timeline is ####ing garbage. Can we get a reset on the whole Conservative movement thing? This takeover by the far right is nauseating. Conservatives must really really enjoy seeing the Liberals in power, because they are assuring it.
PP is skipping a leadership debate organized by a group of deceitful liars pretending to be media hellbent on tearing our country apart to go whoop it up with an individual version of the same perversions.

Have you seen that guys twitter account? It's almost as bad as Theo's

Why do I suspect a lot of skeletons are going to be coming out of PP’s closet if he is the CPC leader when we get to the next federal election?

I actually think he's too dull a person to have many hidden skeletons. Lifelong politician who's done nothing but politics. He knows the game. His skeletons are right out in front of us though, not in a closet. You don't have to search far to find him appalling.

Cons doing their best to give the Liberals another election. Pierre is a horrible candidate.

Maybe one day we'll have 3 or 4 good candidates to choose from. Just not yet.

Honestly part of me wonders if the CPC are even interested in leading right now.

This way if they lose they can continue to sell the story to the far right that the election was rigged and only embolden that crowd.

Friendly bet?

Actually I wouldn’t bet you because I don’t think it’s a fair bet to make, I’ll leave it at that.

Probably make more in donations by appealing to idiots and crying

Certainly seems like they don't want to win

The next election is a battle of three parties that have long since past their best before date and need reform and rebuilding.

Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the 2025 Canadian federal election. In the red corner, the Laurentian Elites! And in the blue corner, Pierre Poilievre, who moved Ottawa and skipped a debate to hang out with a billionaire.

The CPC MPs clearly only care about keeping their seats/jobs.

If they cared about forming government they would change their stance on some of their policies so they’d be more palatable to the people who won’t vote for them solely because of those policies.

But instead of Shriner's driving them, they are driven by a KKK member, a frat boy going through a mid life crisis, and a failed influencer desperate for attention.

This is not unique to the Conservative Party, I'm sorry if you believe it is.

What? A battle of 3 parties? Who on earth actually thinks the NDP have a chance at winning anything notable when they capitulated to the liberals so hard?

I expect that the knives are coming out for JS. He got kind of lucky, he survived his second election.

I mean they went from a height of official opposition at over 100 seats under Jack. Angry Tom's election dropped him down to 44 and he was pretty much fired. In Jagmeets first election, where the Liberal's were a mess, and the Conservatives not much better he dropped to 24 seats. Then in the last election which was supposed to be his Orange Wave moment he fell with a thud and got 25 seats.

He's probably one of the worst performing NDP leaders. He's taking a lot of flack now for this deal with the Liberals, its not helping with a frustrated voter base.

I expect if the NDP can push him out before an election they will.

IMO they've put themselves in a huge bind. The libs aren't likely to follow through on their agreed promise prior to right before the election- essentially a way of guaranteeing their support through the term of the agreement. The party likely can't ditch Jagmeet and undergo a leadership race while propping up the government, as it may trigger confidence. If they don't stick to it and obtain the promise from the liberals, they will look even more impotent than they already are. BUT if they wait that long to can Jagmeet, they won't have enough time to install a new leader and settle them in the run up to an election for a difference to be made.

They really ####ed themselves here imo.

I think you are misjudging the NDP wildly. They are performing the same as they as always do outside of the weird year where Quebec decided they were big NDP fans. They know its going to take a wild circumstance for them to win an election unless they shift around their platform and given they don't shift around their platform - its obviously not a huge concern.

They have more power in Canadian government right now then they've literally ever had and are able to consistently pull the Liberals into doing what they want them to do (even before this agreement with the Liberals).

Non-NDP voters may think he's doing terrible, but I don't think actual NDP supporters are pushing to get him out.

Lol, by what metrics? You realize that NDP's goal isn't to form government, right? Other than the Layton years, which were more a byproduct of the collapse of the LPC, the NDP's numbers are right in line with where they've been historically, especially the popular vote.

You keep pushing this narrative and there's zero truth behind it. He's still incredibly popular within the party and has been successful at leveraging the seats he has to get important party platforms passed. Why would they want him out?

Yeah, I dont really see any mobility for the NDP one way or the other. I would think the Party and its supporters would be thrilled with where the NDP is right now.

The absolute worst thing that could happen to the NDP would be a Liberal Majority, but so long as they're a minority and the NDP continue to get to play 'Kingmaker' I imagine they're as happy as they're going to get.
