Oh absolutely, I wasn't declaring a victory before the victory. I just thought 81 games would be a good opportunity to add on.

This team was projected for around 90 wins at the start of the year. They are on pace for around 90 wins. The sky is not falling. They are in very good position to make the playoffs (something like 90% per Fangraphs), and in baseball that's pretty much all that matters. Winning the division is out of reach, so just make the playoffs and hope you get hot. That's how you win the World Series.

Prior to the start of the season, the Jays were the 2nd betting favorite to win the WS. Now they're the 5th favorite, with the Yankees and Astros having far shorter odds. Plenty has gone wrong that wasn't expected to. I'd honestly be surprised if the Jays finish with 90+ wins.
That said, indeed, anything can happen in the playoffs.

Biggio is back healthy and looks like the 3-4 WAR utility player we all hoped he'd be
Kirk's ability to mash all the way up the minor league system has translated to MLB and he's actually become a pretty decent catcher too
Gausman is good
Manoah is good
Espinal is useful
Just listing some positives
Still in a playoff spot despite some underwhelming indivual performances and the team basically spinning its wheels for about 2 months now
Also, there are some friggin stud pitching prospects working their way up right now. Especially Frasso and Tiedemann. Those two look unreal so far and if they keep doing what they're doing they will move up very fast.

Huge victory to get out of that inning only down by 2. Sad, but true.

Kikuchi is reminding me of that Futurama episode where Leela gets famous for beaning batters
