Could/would Trump run as an independent in 2024, or launch his own party? Probably not, but if anyone ever had the cult following to do it, it's Trump.

The thing with DeSantis is how people think he handled COVID. Florida was pretty much open the entire time and a lot of people think the restrictions in other places were and are still too overreaching.

Would be interested to see polls of how many consider themselves Trump voters vs. considering themselves Republican voters if having to choose between the two.
I don't think he'll do it, but I wonder how many voters and candidates would jump ship to follow him. It would be a real crazy train. Ratings would be fantastic.

I wish stories like this would matter in the next state election, vote these guys out in Ohio. But unfortunately, it's a story du jour and will be forgotten. The Democrats need to make inroads at county and state levels.

She has to deal with sexual abuse for the rest of her life and Republicans to force her to give birth too. If she's lucky enough she'll have enough people to support her with the resources to go to a different state, but that's a temporary solution.
If Republicans win the house and the senate and the presidency in 2024 you know they'll eliminate the filibuster to make abortion illegal across the country.

Jesus, that country is beyond f***ed up. I'd say 2024 is pretty much the last gasp for democracy in the U.S. Dem supporters had better get out there and vote like crazy, or they'll soon be living in a GOP-controlled authoritarian, Evangelical Christian hellscape.

Yeah, Public education clearly isnt working. What they should do is Privatize it. A business would know better how to educate people.

I have mixed feelings about public education myself, but there's little doubt that it shapes a populace in ways that produce support for desired forms of governance and desired economic models.
An idiocracy would probably be less cynical than what they have though.
