It's not too late for Charlie to take up my suggestion of starting Castillo! Please?

It feels like every other team has three or four fireballers in their bullpen and the Jays have Romano and that’s it. Cimber is good but he isn’t a guy who you want to come in to strike out a guy or at least make them nervous.
How can there be nobody in AAA or AA who can come up and just throw heat?

It's been 7 years now, Atkins just clearly has no idea how to build an effective pen.

I do agree it seems bizarre. The Rays are down 2 relievers due to the vaccine and you just know however their replacements are - at least one them will come in and through 98 with wild sinkers and strike out a batter an inning.
Meanwhile the Jays get a guy hurt and their replacements look like generic Batting Practice coach and can't get anyone out.
Plus they called up Ryan Yarborugh who throws like 85 mph and gets rocked by everyone but is 8-2 with a 3.00 ERA against the Jays.

Hopefully they can figure a way to build a dominant pen.
I mean, to be fair they haven't exactly had the best of luck either, and luck is a part of it.
Merryweather looked like an absolute stud
Pearson should at the very least be a a stud reliever by now, but mono? Really?
Borucki had all the making of an elite lefty high leverage guy, but could never master his command
They tried to sign Hendriks but he chose the White Sox
Hand had a history of being a stud, they bring him in and he sucks. Well guess what, he's pitching for Philly this season and has 0.7 fWAR so far lol
I believe I read somewhere that they kick tires on McHugh last off season, but he chose the Braves
And you have to wonder how many guys might be spurning the Jays now with the COVID restrictions. Boston just had to come here without their closer, and Tampa now has two relievers unable to make the trip because they can't come across the border. It's a real detriment IMO
